I like the idea, but aren't the events a little bit...short? Even if you beef up the actual matches with lots of spectacle, it seems like a lot of buildup for what is probably 5-10 seconds of "competition".

I was at the first CLAW event, which was in a small diner here in cville. Its was way more camp theatrics than actual sport, and it was fun. Then shiat started getting quite competitive. I stopped going to the local events after the first compound fracture.

Went to a bunch of these (friends with the ref and some of the CLAW ladies). Never heard about the fracture, jeesh. Who was it?

It's more akin to professional wrestling that arm wrestling - folks could buy "chits" and use them to "bribe" the ref to change his ruling, ignore infractions, etc. (all proceeds to charity). Lots of boozing. Good pregaming event for a night of serious Friday night CVille drinkin'.
