Actually, it usually depends on how the police officer filled out the crash report. Sometimes for alcohol related crashes, the officer doesn't even code who was drinking, so you can't separate out the pedestrians or bicyclists who were drinking when the driver was sober.

I'm an adult who doesn't drive drunk and I'm sick of hearing/seeing the messages and it's not nearly as condescending, trite, simplistic, or unrealistic as that aimed at teens.

When a significant number simply don't drink, and the vast majority of those who do drink do not drive drunk, you're bound to test the limits of how much insulting time wasting lectures they're willing to take.

Put yourself in their shoes. How many assemblies like this would all of us as adults put up with? How many times would your job have to bring you to a meeting/assembly of the kind schools do before you stopped paying attention or even engaged in a little taunting? Granted, adults would be a little more tactful, but anyone paying attention would realize that the vast majority are sick of this kind of meeting and showing it to the presenter.

Well, as much as I applaud her intent, you have to consider your audience carefully. Dressing to accentuate your trauma before a crowd of adolescents seems foolhardy, regardless of your message. Furthermore: karma.

So, according to the article, 10% of DUI deaths were South Carolinians under 21. Wolfram Alpha says that 23.7% of South Carolinians are 17 or younger. Clearly, we need to get more kids drunk to bring their numbers in line with expectations.

The assemblies with the paid hacks were the WORST. There's a good racket for "cleaned" up drunks and drug addicts doing bullshiat speaking gigs.

I remember a similar hissyfit being done by some troupe of art students doing skits about the dangers of drugs. Why the school faculty let all the kids lineup and sit with their friends was beyond me.

I'd say fark the little bastards and just let them learn this lesson the hard way. Unfortunately its usually the people in the passenger seat other car who pay the price when someone drives drunk.

Because 99% of the population won't, and we know this by scientific investigation. If you want an exception to the rule when you break it, go argue it in court. Just because you think you're good to drive after downing a six pack in an hour, doesn't mean you are, and it doesn't mean you're not impaired.

There was a bully at our high school who was a real farking jerk. I didn't get any hassle from him but I remember kids in the lower grades going home in tears because of how mean he was to them. The night before graduation he rolled his car going 160 kph and flipped it end over end. He was drunk. He lived but was basically a vegetable after that. They brought him back to school the next year to see everyone but he couldn't recognize faces or really even speak and didn't even have basic motor control. The kids he used to pick on then proceeded to throw food at him. Being a bully is one thing but I don't think I'd ever wish an outcome like that on someone, if it was karma he must have done some truly evil shiat to someone.

When I was in fifth grade we had some aerobic dance instructor come in and teach us all a bunch of dances. One thing she taught us was the Macarena. Right at the peak of the Macarena craze. After she gets through all the steps we stared booing her, but at least she had the composure to remain on stage.

Later we all had to write her an apology note.
