Save it for another year and it'll be enough to pay for sexual favors from Lilo.

I got the notice from Amazon, but it didn't say how much I have coming to me.

I like how the email is worded to sound more like they're advertising a sale, than apologizing for ripping me off in the past.

I just read The Atrocity Archive by Charles Stross after somebody made a reference to it on Fark. I thought it was pretty good. Want to read his other stuff, but I have to finish re-reading Snow Crash, then I'm probably going to read The Turner Diaries for shiats and giggles.

I don't know anything about this because I never check my email.. but I've purchased about 100 books. Wonder what my winnings will be.

If you like SF try Ian Banks. He's pretty big in the UK but not well known in the US.

I see now.. "Amazon was never a partner to the suit, but now is in the enviable position of letting Kindle customers know their getting both a refund and probably better pricing."

This makes me feel better because I do a lot of business with Amazon.. I mean I buy pretty much everything via Prime and if it's not Prime I don't buy it at all. Amazon had nothing to do with this..It was publishing houses forcing prices on Amazon due to Apple price fixing.

$20 in Ritalin so you can run through a few more books.

Yeah, I thought that was actually a brilliant play by Amazon. Spin your price-fixing settlement as a win to encourage people to buy the very thing that you were accused of price fixing.

Casino owners are jealous.

And I will probably buy a few books from authors I've never heard of. It's free and that Donovan Creed fella sounds badass.

Ian Banks is cool, but I have only read about 3 Culture novels. I can not decide if The Culture is a Communitarian wet dream, or a Libertarian Nirvana, or something else entirely.

Amazon wasn't the one doing the price fixing. It was Apple and the publishers.

My wife estimates she bought over 300 e-books during that time period. No telling how many of them fall into the class.

Thanks for the clarification. I stand corrected on the target, but still think the ultimate spin is a nice bit of work. People will be buying the same products from the same sellers that settled the suit.

An Amazon credit can be used for a ton more things than books from these specific publishers.

Buy my books on Kindle? Will cost you 11.99 and you'll have enough money left over to by Vessel by Tominda Adkins.

For people who haven't seen a credit on their account. The settlement hearing isn't until February 8, 2013.

And if you read it, you get a credit on your Amazon account, useable for anything. Or you can get a check back from Amazon.

I got a $280 check from the at&t slow-ass dsl case a couple weeks ago and that money flew out of my wallet. Probably the gas station and Costco, I don't know. I'm still amazed that I got actual money.

This is fallout from Apples whole "You can't sell it anywhere else for a lower price. Also we get xx% of the money." BS

Only $20 each? Geez, when this was being used by the anti-Apple propaganda machine, you would have thought it was the end of the f**kin' world.
