Cormee: What happens if he heads west?
kendejo42: ..Same here...no video with chromeI wonder if they cut the feed at NM
Idoto: Neil deGrasse Tyson@neiltysonThe "Edge of Space" jump: A corresponding fall to a schoolroom globe begins 1 millimeter above its surface. I'm just saying.
Mawson of the Antarctic: Damn, I can't wait till his helmet cam footage becomes available!
Homer Elmer: Popcorn Johnny: If he doesn't yell "Leroy Jenkins" when he jumps, I'm going to be really disappointed.Wilhelm Scream
poonesfarm: iron_city_ap: Felix is soo getting laid tonight.Or scraped up with a shovel. We'll see.
geom_00: Ascent speed down to 65 ft/min. Now back up to 1000+ft/min
threadjackistan: Maybe I missed it, but what is the inviting, candy like, red button for?
Gosling: And so the capsule has noted Texas in the distance and run screaming back west.
IsNoGood: Whats the RED button outside the door ?Ejector seat ?
bobbette: Watching this live on Youtube.I feel like I'm about to watch a man fall to his death. Jesus.
hershy799: Why the fark is this sponsored by Red Bull?
CowboyUpCowgirlDown: Having learned the importance of rolling up my car windows before exceeding 130 MPH, why doesn't that kind of airspeed just rip his arms or head off?
Gosling: He went to his knees. Unsportsmanlike conduct, 15 yard penalty to be charged on the ensuing kickoff.
Popcorn Johnny: If he doesn't yell "Leroy Jenkins" when he jumps, I'm going to be really disappointed.
bigpeeler: Something bad is going to happen when they open that hatch.
SenorDan: Are all those people in "Mission Control" really necessary or is it just for looks? I'm sure a few of them are actually doing something but in one of the shots it looked like a lady was just watching the broadcast on her monitors.
bobbette: So we have about 8 minutes...Everybody schedule your panic for 7 minutes from now.
naughtyrev: Hate to be morbid, but if the chutes don't work, does he have an out of some sort in terms of offing himself, rather than hitting the ground and turning to jelly? Maybe pull a cord and a spike is driven into his brain stem....
BalugaJoe: He looks like he is reading Fark threads.
StevieKo: bigpeeler: I'm going to laugh my ass when he jumps and gets caught in the moon's gravitational pull. Didn't even consider that, did you Red Bull?Yeah, no. Moons gravity is much, much further away. He's nowhere close at all to the moon's gravity
DreadnaughtZeta: Calling it now. He gets stuck in the capsule, falls back in time to wind up in Roswell 1947.Guess it was a balloon after all.
Somacandra: Evil Mackerel: I wonder if he has a Peter Shilling song stuck in his head? That was a far, far better album than most people gave it credit for.
bigpeeler: I'm going to laugh my ass when he jumps and gets caught in the moon's gravitational pull. Didn't even consider that, did you Red Bull?
bobbette: How did they react to Balloon Boy?
BalugaJoe: Taliban are watching this.
wxboy: HotIgneous Intruder: NIXON YOU DOLT!!!!!: HotIgneous Intruder: NIXON YOU DOLT!!!!!: HotIgneous Intruder: NeoCortex42: I just turned on the Discovery Channel feed. Took me a moment to realize what the display was showing:46,112 ft 14.094 mI get that Europe likes putting decimals in for commas in big numbers, but don't mix notation in a single display. Bugs the hell out of me.That's 14 point zero nine four miles high. No, it's meters. Thanks!I had no idea there were 3,277 feet per meter. There certainly aren't that many feet per mile. They're using the European convention, the decimal is where we would normally put a comma. The figures represent feet and miles in altitude above sea level.Stop. Think. Act.58,000 ft is NOT nearly 18 miles. It's less than 11.
