I met the actor who plays Carl at a convention. He seemed really cool, unlike his character. Anyway, I have been sitting on this since the last discussion thread, so lets start it off right!

Will Rick find the dragon balls in time to revive Dale? Can Glenn ascend to Super Sajin C*ck-blocker? Will Lori continue poisoning the food supply with stupid pills? Find out now on WALKING DEAD Z!

Locking Carl in a cell sounds like a good idea to me.

I can't believe The Walking Dead is already back on with a new season. It doesn't seem like it has been a year, I guess because of the huge 10 week break in the middle of last season.

2012-10-14 08:06:44 PM
This is a truly scary show.
And the chicks are sorta hot.

But how do dead humans walk?
Where do they get their energy?
How does dead muscle tissue carry a body?

Can't wait for this farking season. Haters be damned, I love this show.

Between Michonne, Woodbury, and the prison, this season has major potential.

The actor who plays Carl also called up "The Talking Dead" last season. He seems to embrace his "stay in the house" meme and wishes his character would be smarter. He's a Wil Wheaton in the making.

Will Rick find the dragon balls in time to revive Dale? Can Glenn ascend to Super Sajin C*ck-blocker? Will Lori continue poisoning the food supply with stupid pills? Find out now on WALKING DEAD Z!

Will Lori finally shut up?

GBmanNC: Here's to hoping this season is better than last season.

fark you. Season 2 was awesome.

ZeroCorpse's diatribe about why the haters are idiots needs to be posted in every goddamn WD thread!

ZeroCorpse: Now, before the show starts tomorrow, I want all the new zombie fans to understand something: This show is not going to get any more "zombie kill-a-thon" than it already is (which is "not at all") because Kirkman knows how to write a decent zombie story, and doesn't fall back on survival porn like Brooks, or gore-porn like so many other zombie filmmakers. The Walking Dead, like any good zombie story, is about the living people and how they relate to each other during the end of the world; It's not about zombie kills, making the perfect survival plan, stocking up on guns, or "winning" against the zombies. There is no "winning" -- They're the environmental condition, not the enemy. They're the backdrop, not the antagonist.

Kirkman gets this. If he has ANY control over the show, he will continue to deliver this sort of decent story, and he will avoid turning the show into a cheap zombie survival kill-a-thon.

If you're the impatient type that needs zombies to be the enemy and the story to be about waging war against them in the ultimate libertarian fantasy, then you're better off waiting for World War Z, the movie, to be released, or watching the Syfy "2012 Zombie Apocalypse" movies, because The Walking Dead will likely never deliver on that front.

So I don't want to see you guys hanging out in Walking Dead forums complaining about the lack of action, or that there's too much talking, or that the show is "slow" or seems like a drama and not like a "real" horror show full of gory action. Good zombie fiction IS drama (horror-drama,but still..).

Now, commence with the whining and defending your position that the show sucks because there's not enough people calling zombies "zed" and forming plans to fight them and take back the world.

SineSwiper: fark you. Season 2 was awesome.

Like hell it was.

Forced to do 13 episodes on the same budget that had to do 6 in season one, we ended up with 6-7 episodes of people wandering around the farm talking about the same things over, and over and over again. Occasionally a zombie would pop up to remind everyone that this was a show set in a zombie apocalypse.

Why the hell does The Walking Dead have to be on at the same time as Dexter?

Ah well. Last season dragged... But this season is The Prison, so I'm confident this is where the series will kick off again and become something truly wonderful.

....Where's Carl?!

But NOT ON DISH as we will be reminded every commercial break.

Seriously - why didn't they seek out more zombies, rather than try and regain a semblance of their former lives at the safest place they've encountered thus far?

Yep, pretty much. It won't be utter perfection, and so the internet will work to destroy it.

It's a farm. What the hell do you expect? Intense action on each episode? The show is about character development. Zombies are a sidebar. Hell, it's more about survival than the zombies themselves.

Re-read that post and reply to those points. Otherwise, stop whining.

Oh my god, watching this reminds me of how much I farking hate Lori. Rick telling her how incredibly evil Shane was makes her recoil at the thought even though she had ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED IT.

They do need to get her character straightened out this season.

I know, it's almost as if people think the show is about people trying to survive and make some futile attempt at remaining human in a world gone mad. As if the title is some ironic statement about how the humans are the walking dead... Huh.

Having played the video game (not the latest episode, no spoilers!) I'm pretty happy with the knowledge of what happens to Lori eventually and who is involved.
