WTF Russia? Just wtfock..there are a lot of countries that still buy into this shiat. They refuse to accept and acknowledge. The only good thing that comes of this is the realization that America in contrast is a pretty good place to be. You will still encounter plenty of individual homophobia, but on the govt. level as a whole we are pretty accepting. Yes yes I'm well aware it's still out there too, but compared to this?

Uh wait... God created rainbows but since rainbows are a symbol of the gay movement... is God GAY???

2012-10-14 08:29:24 AM
Mr Artukh is obviously a closeted homosexual who thinks that just looking at a rainbow unleashes his inner gay feelings. But then he'd know best wouldn't he.

They've got it completely wrong. The dairy isn't promoting the homosexual agenda to children, they are promoting the homosexual agenda to cows.

And let's even get into the strange sexual perversions of the chicken-loving Chik-fil-A cows.

If anyone can read Russian, by the way, there's a rather interesting article about all this over here. This is only one more example of steadily increasing morality police over the past decade or so. A "tightening of the screws" as they called it in the Stalinist era, only this time it's the Church that's doing it.

In essence, Russia's undergoing a period of ideological construction in which the ruling regime (not necessarily one which is just defined by Vladimir Putin) is building a new "moral majority" upon which it can base its foundation.

To read that article, it is as if Russia's getting its own ascendance of the crazy religious right (a bit like the US Tea Party), with the difference that unlike in the US, there is very little societal opposition to it from the other side so they're generally getting their way. They're not the majority, but the majority is basically apolitical so they're not much of an opponent, and the government has decided to not interfere with these overzealous efforts in the hope that if they can turn them into allies, they will be a much more reliable base of support than the fickle, apolitical majority.

This isn't funny. A couple of weeks ago I woke up feeling fine but it had been a rainy night. On my way to work, a rainbow suddenly appeared as I was standing at the bus stop with three other guys. We slowly turned our heads towards each other, each of us horrified but unable to squelch the rising compulsion that we could read on the faces of the other men. Right there on the sidewalk we dropped to the ground in a wriggling mass and sucked each others' dicks until a cloud blocked the sun and the hideous thing was gone. We rode the bus to work in shame. I am crying as I type.

Waldo Pepper: oh no here comes the gay fark outrage.

Clearly this should be countered with anti-anti-gay propaganda legislation that forbids the production of material promoting a heteronormative agenda.

I want marketing rights to gay milk. Id stir up some group of dumbassses to protest my gay milk and inform news source. Soon people feeling oppressed would drive hundreds of miles out of their way just to buy gay milk. Taste the rainbow!

The label of the Vesyoly Molochnik milk, owned by multinational dairy company Pepsi Co, is adorned with a jolly milkman and a rainbow in the sky.

Anatoly Artukh from the People's Council, says the label is a violation of St Petersburg's anti-gay propaganda law.

I think the main reason the really anti-LGBT dominionist groups here haven't pulled THIS sort of stunt is they discovered that these sorts of claims make them look patently ridiculous back in the 80s and 90s.

(The thing this reminds me of is less the usual anti-LGBT herpaderp here in the US and more of the "P&G Satanism" scares in the 70s and 80s--the claim that the Proctor and Gamble servicemark was somehow a Satanic symbol, eventually leading to P&G doing away with a service-mark they'd used for well over eighty years. It turned out the rumour was eventually tied to a particular downline of AmWay that is STRONGLY linked to the "Jesus Camper"/NARasite movement and there were some attempted defamation suits, but the "P&G Satanic Panic" is one of the rare cases of a dominionist "Product Panic" that actually made it out to the world at large.)

(And yes, "Product Panics" ARE a surprisingly regular thing, especially in the deeper NARasite circles where they teach that wearing Nike shoes can cause one to be possessed by demons because the brand is named after a pagan goddess (yes, really, they believe this)--this particular panic in Russia actually stinks of an older American "Product Panic" that has circulated in anti-LGBT dominionist circles about rainbows being a method to recruit your kids into the Big Gay Cabal (There Is No Big Gay Cabal) and seems particularly popular in AFA and other Scott Lively-associated dominionist hate groups.)

(And yes, at least one particularly nasty Lively-associated group is known to be active in Russia and much of the ex-Soviet sphere--Watchmen on the Walls, a particularly nasty NARasite anti-LGBT hate group that had its start in Latvia, is extremely closely linked to dominionist anti-LGBT hate networks particularly on the US West Coast, and is one of those NARasite groups that can be said to have engaged in literal gay-bashing, both in the US and the ex-Warsaw Pact world. If at least some of this doesn't ultimately tie to anti-LGBT dominionist hate networks in the US (who are AGGRESSIVELY partnering with not only those behind the Ugandan "Death To Gays" bill but authors of anti-LGBT legislation and hate activity in Russia, Ukraine, and most of the non-Moslem ex-Soviet countries) I'll eat my hat.)

That's putting it mildly. Jimmy Somerville is the creepiest looking Famous Person I've ever laid eyes on. He looks like a dead-set Down Syndrome.

In the Bronksi Beat music clip for Smalltown Boy, check out the little mook blatantly and wistfully purveying the frolicking men at the public swimming pool [between 2:23 - 2:35]. That's enough to put you off yer dinner.

The guys that beat him up probably weren't homophobes, like the clip suggests, but TARDOPHOBES.

This creepy looking hillbilly was Aussie cricket captain for years until very recently. It's the most important non-political job in Australia, godammit!!
