1) Mark down the price, try to sell next year. If that doesn't work:
2) Bulk-sale to discount retailers (Ross, dollar stores, etc.). If that doesn't work, either
3-A) give to goodwill (the right, but rare thing) or
3-B) damage them so that they can't be scavenged and re-sold, bag or box them up and dump them in landfills. (The more common solution.)

Pretty decent Slate article about what happens to unsold clothes.

Dumb article is dumb.

The Ursula is available in larger sizes despite what the article on boingboing that got everyone hating on the slim version says. And why shouldn't there be a slim version? There are plus size versions of costumes that are sourced from thin characters. It should work both ways.

And how is the Chinese takeout racist? That's the exact pattern printed on the majority of takeout boxes. Is it racist because there are chopsticks? You know, the thing given out with each order? Is it racist because of the fortune cookie hair clip? You know, fortune cookies are given out at most Chinese restaurants too. Sounds like they have a problem with the North American version of Chinese food rather than the costume itself. Or they're just trying to score cheap outrage points with no real concern about the effects of crying wolf on actual cases of racism.
