The charity auction angle is nice, but there is nothing illegal about giving Joe a car just for the fun of it.

Could have mentioned the auction more prominently. I think a lot more people would donate.

Celebrity Time
Arianna Huffington 11:00 - 12:00
Rachel Madow 12:00 - 1:00
Chris Matthews 1:00 - 2:00
George Clooney 2:00 - 3:00
Tom Hanks 3:00 - 3:30
John Stewart 3:30 - 4:30
Colbert 4:30 - 5:30
George Takei 5:30 - 6:30
Betty White 6:30 - 7:00
Bill Maher 7:00 - 8:00
Ellen DeGeneris 8:00 - 9:00
Alec Baldwin Foundation 9:00 - 10:00

Remember!! Be funny, snarky; but not rude. Also be sure to include the hashtag #givejoethebird at every opportunity.

What time zone? What day? Am or PM?

We'll do Central Time Zone. That way both coasts can contribute all day. Good question, did not think of that. It also starts in the am and ends in the pm.

Also, we can add more people but I think a coordinated campaign is best with a limited number of people each day. We can add more people on Tuesday. We have 46 more days for funding. We have time. :)

Can't Joe afford his own car or is that the real joke here.

Yeah I saw the onion article...

I do like the idea of symbolically giving him the car but donating the proceeds to worthwhile charities instead though.

Hey what are the chances of giving people the option to buy a t-shirt with a print of the onion 'shop of Biden washing a TransAm?

They have those instant-order shirt printers now.... I googled "instant shirt print" and got a ton of hits.

One site quotes $6 per shirt. Apparently there is a lot of variety in the style of shirt (mens, women's, hooded sweatshirt, etc) and colors.

Could this be set up so people can order a shirt for say, $20 on indiegogo with a click or two, so it's not a case of "donate $20 and we'll link you to a shirt printer so you can make your own Biden shirt with your own pic"

Possibly. I would contact them just to be safe, but I'm pretty sure that we have a really valid fair use argument. In addition to the fact that the Onion has made no effort to curb third party usage of the photograph.

Could have mentioned the auction more prominently. I think a lot more people would donate.

Thing is, we already know he doesn't want it based on an interview with him where the Onion article was raised for comment. He actually has a classic Corvette that the Secret Service won't let him drive. I much prefer the charity angle and hopefully when all is said and done there is at least a photo op with the Bird.
