I am not an Intellectual Property rights guy, but might it be as simple as paying ASCAP a one time fee based on number of tapes (or CD's or whatever) multiplied by the number of songs on the tapes? Bars with jukeboxes just pay ASCAP, so I've got to think there's an easier way than creating a 501c3 or contacting each and every rights holder for permission.

I got an email from CustomInk.

Here is a snippet:

"Let me know if you have any questions about the pricing or would like additional quotes.

I know you had mentioned the current design under your email is just a test design, please let me know if you need any help creating a design. Since you have a general idea of what you would like, I would suggest working with Creative Services to create a really awesome t-shirt that could definitely help raise money and awareness.
Below is a link to Creative Services. They are extremely great at what they do and definitely worth the fee/deposit.

I just fell asleep on my keyboard, so it's lights out for me everyone. I'm gonna try to bastardize a shirt design sometime tonight after I wake up, but I'm just too damn tired to think straight for now. Care on, my wayward sons! And daughters!

RichieLaw: This was super helpful. I am an attorney so the incorporation part would not be terribly difficult, but this does seem easier. I am planning on contacting the charities tomorrow to see if a pass through is possible. The difficulty is getting a charity to give up the money to the other three. I don't think it will be a problem but I want to play it safe. I'm totally fine with donating my time but I do not want to get hit with a gigantic tax bill at the end of the year. Or an audit.

Glad I could help. I didn't realize you were an actual attorney. Makes me feel better about my donation knowing that your professional license may rest on you taking due care with the proceeds :)

(not snark, I carry a professional license as well)

While it has almost nothing to do with what this is about, seventies F bodies can be made into serious performers. Hot Rod recently built up what they called the E Rod Camaro. The same could be done with a Firebird.

DO NOT WANT Poster Girl: stonytokes: PallMall: Cinderella: Heartbreak Station
Bon Jovi: Shot through the Heart
Poison: Give me something to believe in

I was with you until this. Please...no hair metal. I can't picture Joe listening to Poison, Bon Jovi, or Cinderella.

Yea, I'm no Bon Jovi fan either, but it's a TRANS AM, and I live in JERSEY. So I can't see it as too crazy.

If we do keep it, maybe keep that stuff in its own section.

The Trans Am aspect is why I threw those songs out there. Butt rock isn't my cup-o-tea, but if I had a Trans Am, it would be MANDATORY.

Kick Out The Jams: MC5
Let's Stay Together: Al Green
In The Street: Big Star
Skidmarks On My Heart: The Go-Go's
Crazy 'Bout An Automobile: Ry Cooder
I'm In Love With My Car: Queen
Paradise By The Dashboard Light: Meat Loaf
Trampled Underfoot: Led Zeppelin

The Al Green is cuz Uncle Joe obviously should never be separated from his beloved TA ;-)

And the MC5 is just a kick-ass song.

Daycare for two kids + starting teacher's salary SUCKS.

Vote/submit your favorite rock songs to go into the Trans Am mixtape/playlist

If you have a song you want on the mix tape, please post it there!

Voting may help us pick a limited number of songs but we'll compile all the suggestions into a playlist for everyone anyway.

The Southern Dandy: digitalrain: DO NOT WANT Poster Girl: digitalrain: Flogging Molly - If I Ever (Leave This World Alive)

I love FM -- but It's kind of out of the theme of 60's-70's-80's rock and roll.

Good point...how 'bout we get some CCR on that list...maybe Fortunate Son or Bad Moon Rising?

If you're gonna throw in CCR, you should add Ramble Tamble. I know most people haven't heard of it because it never got a lot of airplay, but it's a GREAT driving song. Food for thought. I know it won't survive the cut, but there it is.

Running down a dream by tom petty is a great driving song too
