I think it says even more that the show was somehow worse than that.

When I was 19, I worked in a lumber yard just outside of Aspen/Snowmass. We'd pull the orders and band them together in the am, then do deliveries in the afternoon. One time, a glue-lam slid off the forklift and, in my zeal to not dent/damage it, I almost crushed my foot with the edge of this heavy piece of lumber slamming down on my toe. In the following days, the injured digit was swollen and began oozing this green/yellowish puss that had a funky odor to it. That odiforous puss was funnier than any Dane Cook routine.

Just sayin'...

Actually, if you stretch that story out just a few more minutes and repeatedly make weird sound effects with your mouth while describing how your foot got crushed, it WOULD be a Dane Cook routine.

Tonight on NBC, Joe Rogan is 'Mandela' and, if it's Wednesday, it must be Cricket Night in America. Then on Jay, a full hour of Gary Sinise's band.

I hate to pull a Godwin, but Hitler had supporters too. What's the correct number of fans one is allowed to have and yet, still be a douchebag? According to you, one million fans must mean he can do no wrong.. So what if he only had 100 fans? Can 100 fans be wrong? 1000? 10000? What's the number of fans that is acceptable to you for Dane Cook to be wrong?

Cause to me, one is all it takes. When you say 1 million, I just think "Damn, one million people have bad taste in comedy."

I can't stand to listen to his stand up "comedy." "Crude" language isn't funny when it's being tossed out there every few seconds just for shock value.

Either that, or NBC is finally realizing that they farked over millions of Olympic faithful, and are apologizing in their own special way.

I stand corrected.

Judging by sales of the most popular album, 1.2 million can't be wrong. And of those who purchased the album, probably 3x that amount illegally downloaded, so let's say @4.8 million Dane Cook fans can't be wrong.

If you care to discuss the math, I'll be down at the BK Lounge.

The Jersey Shore Season 4 premiere earned monster ratings - a 19.6 rating among adults ages 18-49 and a projected 118 million viewers overall - shattering all TV records.

Wouldn't a non-broken pitchfork be more ... gruesome to fark yourself with? How is this pitchfork broken? There's not much to a pitchfork. I mean you got the handle, the wooden pole and the fork. Is it a couple tines that broke off or is the whole fork part gone? Because I've never seen individual tines break off of one.

My exposure to Dane Cook has been entirely limited to five minutes of his standup that I watched on youtube, and three minutes in I was already thinking about what it would feel like to repeatedly superkick him in the face while wearing track spikes.

...or maybe Dane based the character on a real person and "borrowed" so much of the guy's act that NBC thought they'd get sued.

Dane Cook's first album was good. His second had some funny moments (ie, The Friend Nobody Likes, Creepy Guy at Work) but it was mostly just filler. And everything he's done since then shows pretty clearly that he ran out of material pretty quickly and has been phoning it in ever since. He hasn't been relevant since 2008 or so. Even the most ardent fanboys like you should be able to admit that.

This, however, did make me regain some respect points for him.

Pretty much this. The first album was new and different and I found myself laughing despite myself; second had some laughs, but they were few and far between; third was "...and that's all you have? No growth, no change in the routine? And your fan base gets even more obnoxious too."

It's a specific style of comedy all right. Basically, it's a Jim Carrey stand-up routine if Jim decided to take out all the jokes.
