5 mg dose of MDPV * 2400 doses = 12000 mg

at $32 / gram more like $384

quite a bit less than the estimated $170,000

Pretty much what I came here to say. Any time cops use "doses" instead of an actual amount means something funny is going on.

One thing when we go bannin' stuff, we lose the numbers related to use. I've seen lotsa people use this stuff, but they just ran around and danced.

We are going to ban bath salts and they will become the most popular drug ever as a result.
...and then, ZOMBIES!

He was under the influence of marijuana only. You know, that "harmless" drug that all the stoners claim is completely safe (with a straight face) when side effects include face-eating.

No. He only tested positive for pot, but tests only show what you test for. The chemical formula for bath salts is constantly changing to avoid detection and in an attempt to stay legal. This is part of the attraction - they often don't show up on drug tests.

So unless they specifically test for the chemicals in the bath salts that someone may or may not have been taking, you can't tell if they're on bath salts or not.

If I had seen lotsa people use this stuff, I would think it is time for a lifestyle evaluation.

I wish i could get that kind of math when my income tax refund is calculated

2012-10-13 10:15:45 AM
Look, I'm not into this whole drug culture thing, but the math doesn't make sense. $170k for 2400 doses? $70 for one dose to get high? Bullshiat. I may be biased, but my imagined user (you know, the face eating types) don't strike me as the type to scrape up $70 to get loaded once when they can pick up a rock for $20 or a half gram of meth for ~$50. Maybe I am naive.

It was later proved that bath salts are good for you, but the pharmaceutical industry squashed the report's publication and intimidated the authors into silence.

If everyone who smoked weed started eating faces we really would have a zombie apocalypse. Dude just had the munchies and there were no hot pockets available on the side of the road.

If that's the case the case, most of San Fran and the Bay Area should be zombified. But hey, don't let the facts get in your way

So much this.

Also don't believe everything you see on those cheesy anti-pot commercials.

The legal stuff we used to smoke before all this bath salt nonsense was called Salvia, and its concentrated form was a brief mindfark much more intense than even mushrooms.

Stick to the illegal stuff kids, at least we know what weed does to you. Besides the bath salt psychosis, we have no idea what this designer shiat is doing to our body in the long term. All these kids who chose to get high for a brief phase in their youth could end up with cancer or some type of permanent brain damage affecting them well after they get over the experiment stage and become responsible adults..

Which is totally amazing. Ban something that is harmless, but do nothing to make bath salts contraband.

I suspect the "doses" were 750mg baggies. Those may go for $70 at street level? I don't know.

Bath salts are illegal. That's like, what the whole article is about.

weed is illegal because when u get high u stop worrying about doing your job. and if u stop worrying about doing it, u might analyze what your doing. and if it's something u don't like.. u might lose your job. THIS is why it's a crime.
think about it.

Bath salts are still plenty legal in several states, or if not they were very recently.

Yeah, right? I drive down to the store to get a quart of milk and get spotted without my seat belt on, and it's like the Spanish Inquisition around here. How do people get busted multiple times like that, and still strut around?

i'm thinking he either snitches or sets up other people to get busted. this time the quantity is just too sweet for them to overlook so pop goes the weasel.

I detect a strong, marijuana odor coming from that comment.

Given the choice between meeting someone driving a car after smoking a joint vs. a guy who's had a couple beers, I'll take my chances with the latter every time.
