Wow that was a great meltdown. I'm not much of a baseball watcher, but that was a good game.

Last time I looked at the score, I thought they were booking hotel rooms in San Francisco

Despite being a Yankees fan, I kinda wanted to see a Nats-O's World Series. Now I'm hoping for Yankees-Giants.

/no real dislike for the Cards or Tigers, though

Cards, Giants, and Yankees won. Guess I'm rooting for Detroit.

/Go Miggy & Verlander

So, this is not the team that plays against the Harlem Globetrotters?
/Doesn't follow baseball.

I'm going with Cards-Tigers, just because I root for the Central teams by default since I'm an Indians fan and neither Central Division gets respect. Though I also think Tigers-Giants is the most likely series. Nats-O's would have been fantastic though. Horrific ratings and one of the two most deprived fanbases gets a well deserved Series.

Also, fark the Yankees.

Obama's fault.

I liked it. Giants will beat the Cards, then win the WS, and I hope it's the Tigers we beat 'cause I hate the Yankees.

Dusty Baker also manages the Nationals ?

Really Nats? Now its the Cards and Giants for the NL? GO TIGERS!

It has become obvious in the past six years that God is a Cardinals fan, and it's difficult to beat God.

Except maybe for Verlander.

As a braves fan having no dog in this fight, that was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched.

/f the Yankees

Honestly, you could not ask for a more classic league championship series with the teams involved. History for all teams is as rich as it comes. This will be so awesome.

True. I find it hard to get excited for WS that include any team younger than the Mets.

/but then I often find it hard.

Is there some reason that Davey Johnson left Storen in so long? He should have pulled the guy once he walked the bases loaded, and if not then, then definitely as soon as he let up the hit to tie the game.

Hope for a Tigers/Giants WS, with the Tigers winning it all. Solely due to Verlander.

Giants seem like a fun team, but this group already have rings.

Because the Nats were a very beatable team, its why it sucks the Braves couldn't win the idiotic selig game, but then they were playing against the cards and the umps.

This really was a longer, more drawn out version of Pinella wanting to save Zambrano for a Game 5 that never came because the relief staff couldn't hold leads.

If the Nats were so beatable, then maybe the Braves should have beaten them more often. Atlanta was 8-10 against Washington this year.

Also at one point it was 9-7, 2 outs 3-2 count in the top of the 9th and Storen threw a strike the umpire called a ball

Good. I'm glad they lost. How asinine is it to bench your best player. Worst sports management decision ever.

Fun fact: had the Braves gotten a winning record against the Nats, they wouldn't have had to play in the "idiotic selig game".

I was out with friends and I thought the game was over. I was shocked when I looked up at the tube.

So..... we're just going to ignore that benching Strasburg had nothing to do with them losing?

If Strasburg pitched, he would have taken Ross Detwiler's rotation spot, but Detwiler threw a fantastic game. Would Strasburg's very presence have prevented Edwin Jackson and Jordan Zimmermann from sucking? Would he have prevented Storen from blowing the save?
