I figured this was the response to Obama losing for being too polite. It's just that Biden decided to crank the jackassery up to 11.

Loved watching it, though; Biden acting like a jackass, Ryan sitting there giving his puppy-dog look while performing his con man routine. Good popcorn material, watching two pieces of human filth duke it out.

on the edge of my seat here wondering what could possibly make biden "human filth"

For those of you claiming that Republicans are not encouraging or inciting violence, go have a look at Drudge. As I write this there is an ad at the top of Drudge's site for the movie Atlas Shrugged. The ad copy reads, "Everything has a breaking point". The second news link from the top reads, "Will the Election Results Cause Riots."

Hmmmmm.

Of course Rat Sludge has a right to say these things. He's a responsible journalist, after all.

imontheinternet: I think I've had a revelation. Modern American conservatism is a form of paranoid schizophrenia.

========

Having been both a registered Republican and a NRA member, and having the extreme displeasure of running into hundreds of these "God fearing conservatives", you have no idea how right you are. Liars, hypocrites, schemers, backstabbers, swindlers, hate filled cowards, greedy, narcissistic, and paranoid, oh so paranoid.

I used to live in a small Norman Rockwell type town that was solidly "conservative". On the outside it was all cookie-cutter houses with picket fences, behind the scenes it was batshiat levels of derp. The ultra conservative mayor....opposed to gay marriage....turned out to be a total flamer. Even though everyone knows he's as gay as the day is long, he will sue anyone who says so. A councilwoman who derped on endlessly about "big government" used her position on the town council to worm her way into a high paying county gov job. Once she got herself hired, she turned around and got her son hired as a teacher at a local public school. A retired cop, who claimed to be a Vietnam War vet is all hot for attacking Iran and igniting WWIII.......he also claims to be an expert in "terrorism" even though he spend his entire working life as a small town cop. Some people were suspicious of his claims regarding his war hero status. As it turns out, he did serve in the USMC during the Vietnam War, but he never left the USA....spent the entire time in the Marine Corps band. Must have been hell getting into a battle of the bands with those sinister VC.

I didn't watch as I had no real interest in seeing which group of corporations won the night but from the instal-polls afterward it seemed like pretty much a tie. I saw the CNN one you showed but the important number from that is that it was a tie with Independents. I saw two other polls. One heavily favored Biden and the other heavily favored Ryan.

It was not a tie. Biden wiped the floor with him. The allegedly liberal news media is always negative against the powers that be about 43% of the time. The only anomaly is Fox News Channel, which has a particular bias, all of the time, no matter who is president. But when Romney and Obama squared off to accomplish absolutely nothing in what an objective observer would call a stalemate (or at best a lacking performance from Obama), all you saw was Romney winning hands-down/ WTF with Obama?/ Romney's suddenly changing minds headlines. Biden takes that sycophantic glee club punk to task, and all of the sudden the news media is ponderous and hesitant. It's how it has always been and always will be.

I think it's a key election year and I'd like to be able to play a part...even if it's just a small part at my local level. you should come out and volunteer for the Obama campaign. hell, if I could get off my fat lazy ass then anyone could do it. just sign up for a shift, work a phone bank for a couple/few hours. meet other people and see if it interests you at all.

What if he wanted to volunteer for Romney? I was going to vote Obama, but after reading and watching the politics stuff, I think I'll vote for a third party. I can't stand either the dems or the rublicans. I figure Obama will win either way. I'll just vote for the opposite party for other positions, and hope neither side has a clear majority.

I don't know about courage, but what alternative is there? You either vote third party, you don't vote, or you vote for one of the assholes you don't want. S in the end you end up with shiat no matter what you do. And the worst part is, no matter what you do you end up ridiculed and reviled by someone on one side or the other.

So, sure, call me a coward for refusing to vote for the giant douche or the turd sammich. But I refuse to accept the alternatives.

I'm just telling you what the polls told me afterward. If I'm not mistaken, it was the CNBC poll that heavily favored Ryan. I can't remember for sure off the top of my head though.

The three results I saw were CBS, CNN, and CNBC. CNN, while slightly favoring Ryan, also showed a tie with Independents. Really that's the only important number as I doubt anyone is being turned from one party or the other at this point. CBS, as you said, heavily favored Biden. CNBC heavily favored Ryan. I took that as it being pretty much a tie. But those numbers will be irrelevant in the coming days when we see what the longer term effects are of that debate and the second presidential debate.

Like the mathematical improbability of Romney even getting close to 270, let alone winning? Don't hold your breath. The media needs a white knuckle election in order to remain economically viable.

www.personal.psu.edu

Romney would need to win FL, NC, VA, OH, NV just to get to 265 (against Obama's 266), and it still isn't enough.

And in order to win, Romney would need to win NH, CO, FL, IA, NV, NC, and OH. That's 271. If you add VA, that's 284. I don't know which universe President Romney is from, but it isn't this one.

There is some CCTV footage available of the rioting in Edinburgh last year, spurned on by the mass outbreak of rioting in London.

The images here should be, strictly speaking, SFW but before you click you should know that the footage is utterly harrowing to behold. I can't tell you whether it is something that you will be able to accept or whether it will damage your psyche. That's something you will need to decide for yourself.

As always, what has been seen cannot be unseen.
