legalgus: Big brain Fark. You idiots need to get a mental check or at least learn how to listen and read. Majority of news, even liberal CNN ,gives Ryan the win over Biden, the consummate boob. Keep alluding yourselves, liberals, you're going down in November.

Yawn. What are you alluding to? yuk yuk yuk

2012-10-13 12:31:43 AM

Weaver95: Actually, CNN admits they over polled Republicans and skewed the poll results. AT BEST Ryan got a tie...but it's looking like he did far far worse than that.

This one has to leave a mark for the self-proclaimed bearers of the free market standard: Adam Smith's invisible hand points to Obama.

2012-10-13 12:31:48 AM

Weaver95: Granted, I just started with the Democrats this week but the worst I've seen so far has been a couple of insults and a several people hanging up on me. And the insults weren't very inspired - one guy called me a nigg*r lover and a church lady called me 'ungodly' and that she'd pray for my hellbound soul. that's about it tho. no violence, just insults. And even the insults have been pretty rare.

Wow. You're actually working phones for the Democratic Party? Wow. I'm glad no one has threatened you for it--sorry about the insults. As a registered Green I won't be doing that, but I'm glad to see another Statist Skeptic on the inside of the Dems though. Gotta keep them at least a little more honest :-)

Why would anyone anti-Democrat shoot up an office now when they are finally winning?

2012-10-13 12:36:36 AM

cman: my vote is going to Gary Johnson. As for working on a campaign, things like this is a reason why volunteering for political campaign is a bad idea

I hear you man. That's cool. But you could also volunteer as an election monitor. I did that in urban Detroit in 2004. One of the best experiences I've had. I voted absentee beforehand and helped answer questions about voting people had. Helped a few Libertarians with their ballots because they requested physical assistance. And really--no one's going to put a hit out on someone because they support Governor Johnson's candidacy.

Doomsday paranoia from talk radio and FW:FW:FW:FW emails.

Spare Me: brianbankerus: The fear-mongering on the right gives rise to extremism. Extremism is never a good thing.

I'm so sick of the right and its propaganda.

You want to see extremism, watch what happens when Obama loses. The strategy of destroying America from within the system will have failed. The left will have no other choice but getting the "Revolucion" freak on.

That had better be satire.. please mark it as such.

Markoff_Cheney: i like this opinion. but ryan did lie his ass off and looked a fool in foreign policy.

Thank you. To be fair... I don't think "honesty" has been a high priority for any participant in any televised debate since the birth of the televised debate. I'm not looking at it... but I would guess the "fact check" scoring is somewhere around even and that they both were dancing around the truth some.

And yes... Biden came off as "understanding" foreign policy. Had he not been joking around like a bozo... I would even venture into the "Experienced Statesman" area to describe it.

Ryan looked like he was reciting talking points. I don't necessarily think he said anything that was inherently "stupid"... just looked like he hadn't really thought about it before... if you know what I mean.

intelligent comment below: clowncar on fire: Seriously? You sound pretty nervous there yourself, big guy. Enough to buy into the paranoia that the republicans are stashing away weaponary and are coming to get you one day.

How does one "sound pretty nervous?" Tell me how you can make these logical leaps about me when you don't even know my name?

You sound a little too concerned. One does need to know- or care to know-- without not being able to make such leaps. I don't worry about the LGBT's taking over society, you shouldn't have to lose sleep about having to bow down to your redneck overlords someday.

clowncar on fire: I own no guns, but I do admit to stockpiling empty beer bottles (cap type, not screw on) and beer brewing supplies so I can take a shot at brewing up my own batch of beer. I'd say quit worrying about the stockpilers and leave them to police/ government scutiny but then again- they're probably in on it as well aren't they?

cool story bro

clowncar on fire: I'm not understanding what this even means. I don't comment on truth (be it positive, negative or whatever), but I like to call out stupid when i see it from time to time if that is what you mean.

Of course you don't understand what that comment means. It means you only log into this account when your others get temp banned

Tin foil much? Thanks for informing me about all those other alts I use and the frequency of my bannation. You sound in the know. Care to share that extensive list of alts or you still just enamoured with your revelation and don't feel the need to follow up?

Unless you try to explain who this is. And, ok, even then, it doesn't rise to "a hit". But certainly "a mildly confused expression", and possibly even "waving to an imaginary friend while apologizing for leaving".

agreed minus the bozo. he is an experienced statesman, it is why he was nominated for VP, to counter obamas inexperience.
and his derision of bullshiat was blatent, matt taibbis article a few clicks down pretty much nails it. dems have this problem of stretching the truth and facts and sometimes misrepresenting them. the other side is flat out full of shiat on all points and needs to be called out.

I resent you calling Paul Ryan old. I mean he might seem senile, but its just that he is misguided.

And I could hardly call that yelling.

2012-10-13 12:50:04 AM

Pray 4 Mojo: Biden took control of the tone and timber of the entire evening... and occasionally made Ryan look like a moron. Biden also had a few strong highlights of great counterpoints to Ryan's talking points. However... about 1/3 to 1/2 way through... the entire 'Biden Schtick' got a little annoying... then more... then a lot. Eventually... he reminded me of one of my drunk uncles sitting at the Thanksgiving table yelling over everybody that they didn't know shiat 'cause they hadn't seen shiat.

Which is exactly how it was. Ryan is a greenhorn with next to nil in political experience, especially foreign matters. Biden has been in this for, what, almost three decades or so? And Ryan goes in acting like he knows everything about everything and spewing the exact same talking points and lies that Rush Limbaugh and the right have been repeating for the last 3.5 years. Biden wasn't about to let him get away with it, and frankly we need more of the right being called out and their bullshiat exposed.

Truth isn't pretty, nor does it always win friends. But it certainly influences people.

I don't disagree. I have a lot of respect for Biden as a politician... wasn't saying he IS a bozo... just that, in this particular debate, his antics overshadowed that... IMO.

Also... not even saying that's bad... the Dems clearly had a gameplan going into this thing... and he ran it to the letter.

Idiots.

2012-10-13 12:59:41 AM

Fissile: A large percentage of current Republican supporters are dangerously disturbed tards that are encouraged by the ever so responsible folks of talk radio and Fox News. Just a couple of years ago, Michelle Bachmann was encouraging the paranoiacs to shoot Census workers. If anything, the Obama administration has been overly patient with this kind of nonsense. Does anyone believe radical left wing loons would have gotten away with daily exhortations of violence during the Reagan years?

Irrespective of how the election goes, the GOP is toast. If Obama wins, the batshiat insane element in the Republican Party will blame the last few responsible adults in the party for not being "conservative" enough. In others, the party will be taken over entirely by the Randoids and raputure-bunnies. It will drift so far out into Insane-o-Land it will never be heard from again.

If Willard wins, it is unlikely that he will deliver all, or even most. of what he promised, in which case, see above.

If Willard wins, and gets most of what he wants, the American economy will be destroyed. Best case scenario: The Randiods and rapture-bunnies will again blame the current gang in charge for not being "conservative" enough. Worst case, they will see conspiracies and sabotage everywhere, like the true paranoiacs that they are. What follows will be a bloodbath.

That sounds like a wise analysis. Though I can't see the economy surviving even a best-case Romney presidency. The man has 'skills' fit only for destruction.

Which describes many 'conservatives'.

LawrencePerson: Only the most hopeless Dem partisans really think Biden won that debate.

Biden's obnoxious contempt, constant interruptions and mindless grinning cost his ticket independent votes.

Biden, the former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, devestated a young idiot who only brought a bunch of rehearsed lines based on falsehoods. Ryan had nothing, he brought only lies, and Biden called them all out and rubbed Ryan's nose in them.

Anyone who claims otherwise is a damned liar.
