naptapper: LordJiro: naptapper: According to a poll taken by CNN just after the debate, 48% thought Ryan won and 44% thought Biden won. But keep sticking to the talking point that "Biden Won".

Seems like it was a tie to me.

You mean the poll which outright admits it oversampled Republicans? That poll?

How can a poll admit anything? It's a poll. Only a person can admit to something.

Whatever. The footnotes for the poll admit that more Republicans were polled than Democrats.

So you're saying that CNN only polled insane, irrational people? Because of the opinion of your BIL? You call that rational?

actually, the rumor i've heard around the 'net is that CNN over polled Republicans by almost 2:1. I have no idea if that's true or not though and no first hand knowledge of the poll details.

Drew - seriously, I hope the new crowd has a good target demographic, and that it keeps you in beer for the rest of your life, because except for current times when politics took over, it didn't suck.

I totally agree with that - I even sent Drew an email about it (he responded, BTW). I asked that the terms of use for Fark require that paid bloggers identify themselves and there comments as such.

I can't wait for the election to be over and all of the paid bloggers go back to whatever fark hole they came from.

no, i am saying that their independent panal was far from independent. it was FARK INDEPENDENT TM.
also, check more post polls than CNNs, which kind of proves my point. from what i understand a majority of the immediate post polls had it around 60-40 biden.
but i dont like getting all my statisticals to fit my world view. nor do i take my anecdotal evidence as proof. just saying, biden clearly and objectively won, ryan had his merits and kept his cool, joe came off as a bit of a... joe biden, but that is how i see it.

Yes of course, just like I said, all those Democrats preparing for Armageddon

Seriously? You sound pretty nervous there yourself, big guy. Enough to buy into the paranoia that the republicans are stashing away weaponary and are coming to get you one day.

clowncar on fire: I suggest you get some sleep and stop worrying.

Why do I need sleep and why am I worrying? Please enlighten me. I'm not sitting around with loaded guns around every corner and supplies for 6 months

I own no guns, but I do admit to stockpiling empty beer bottles (cap type, not screw on) and beer brewing supplies so I can take a shot at brewing up my own batch of beer. I'd say quit worrying about the stockpilers and leave them to police/ government scutiny but then again- they're probably in on it as well aren't they?

clowncar on fire: Now what part of that got your panties so twisted that you even felt the need to respond to such an irrelevant comment?

I think the better question is, what got YOUR panties in a bunch so much to login to this rarely used troll account to post such nonsense on a Friday night?

I'm not understanding what this even means. I don't comment on truth (be it positive, negative or whatever), but I like to call out stupid when i see it from time to time if that is what you mean.

I still don't get how the right wing doesn't get called on this shiat, especially after that kook flew the plane into the IRS building. Their propaganda is making a bunch of extremist maniacs. to elaborate my point. after the first debate there was a PDF linked in the thread that was from CNN stating the demographics of the people they were polling and it was dominantly white old republicans from southern regions.
the only bias CNN has is a bias to make money. its why they backed off so hard from LIEBERAL MSM MEDIA bullshiat to the point where both sides need to get their fair share, yet never get called out on bullshiat.
they have an agenda.

How can a poll admit anything? It's a poll. Only a person can admit to something.

Whatever. The footnotes for the poll admit that more Republicans were polled than Democrats.

if that's true than it's even WORSE for Ryan. that would imply that support for the Republican ticket is weaker than expected.

If anyone cares... As a somewhat independent (of the major parties) person that will be voting for neither in attendance... my opinion on the debate:

Ryan looked out of his league. He made some decent points, brought up some decent counter-arguments and at least handled himself 'respectfully'. However... as his national, high profile coming-out party? He just looked like a rookie. Simple as that.

Biden took control of the tone and timber of the entire evening... and occasionally made Ryan look like a moron. Biden also had a few strong highlights of great counterpoints to Ryan's talking points. However... about 1/3 to 1/2 way through... the entire 'Biden Schtick' got a little annoying... then more... then a lot. Eventually... he reminded me of one of my drunk uncles sitting at the Thanksgiving table yelling over everybody that they didn't know shiat 'cause they hadn't seen shiat.

Biden's job/gameplan was to overrun Ryan and erase the impression of "weakness" left in the wake of the previous debate and "re-energize" the Democrat base. Ryan's job was to demonstrate that he had a clear grasp of the issues and understanding of the policies he represented... and to not embarrass himself.

As far as the success towards these goals... Biden clearly won.

However... in trying to lure independent/undecided voters... I'd have to call it a tie... since I don't think either did that.

Given the fact you were intruding them out of the blue with a political sales pitch- remember just being another saleman-- this says more than you can imagine about the myth of "conservative rage" if all you got were a few insults. Seriously- who hasn't been rude, or down right insulting, to that salesman awakening your cranky child from their nap, disturbing the family pets, or imposing themselves into your otherwise routine day. Bad enough pay an unsolicited visit to another man's home, even if via telephone, but to double down and bring political views into the picture as well?

What exactly were you expecting? Hugs of appreciation?

What we have learned here is that:
- people don't like being bugged at home
- some people really don't handle political discussions with salesmen all that well
- some people are more that happy to share their disdain toward your profession (to what is essentially a door to door salesman hawking a product), albeit your are only a volunteer and are doing such in an effort to increase a political base.

You should know by now that I am not voting for him. Sure, I do prefer him over Mr Flip-flop, but my vote is going to Gary Johnson.

As for working on a campaign, things like this is a reason why volunteering for political campaign is a bad idea. I really think that the closer we get to November the more we will deal with this scary shiat.
