LawrencePerson: Only the most hopeless Dem partisans really think Biden won that debate.

Biden's obnoxious contempt, constant interruptions and mindless grinning cost his ticket independent votes.

Haha! Yes! We are so hopeless. Well done.

Too bad about your guy getting his ass kicked last night.

enochianwolf: Befuddled: Are the rightwingers going to give Obama grief for not calling this terrorism?

It's just like the modern Republican party to politicize events overseas to their maximum conspiratorial shaping. Obama didn't go on national television that night (like Romney did when he condemned the Embassy staff) and tell the American people this was terrorist action, when this attack happened under the auspices of widespread protests in Egypt as well as other places.

Here's a clue, Conservatives, when something as serious as an Embassy raid and Ambassador homicide happens, you do a thorough investigation on your own and make sure what you state takes everything possible into consideration. For instance, the administration might claim no knowledge of terrorist activity in order to better lull culprits into a sense of safety and therefore easier to identify or any other number of variables. You can't just say to the American public in a press conference "It was the terrurists again!" and warn of showing national weakness while threatening to invade. That's a conservative's foreign policy approach, not a holistic, THOUGHTFUL way to conduct your national interest around the globe.

Romney showed the depth of his potential Presidential caliber and ability to handle foreign affairs when he went on national television and insulted the trapped Embassy workers' pleas for calm, before the shooting was over. He blamed Obama, knowing full well Obama did not author that statement. Along with other gaffes such as the 47% remark, his respect for the intelligence of the American populace is obvious. Unfortunately, even after all this, he has managed to close some of the gap in the polls and so on that criteria he might be right to underestimate us.

And who said is was a Republican who shot it? Dems are crazier and far more violent.

2012-10-12 10:40:28 PM

Fissile: A large percentage of current Republican supporters are dangerously disturbed tards that are encouraged by the ever so responsible folks of talk radio and Fox News. Just a couple of years ago, Michelle Bachmann was encouraging the paranoiacs to shoot Census workers. If anything, the Obama administration has been overly patient with this kind of nonsense. Does anyone believe radical left wing loons would have gotten away with daily exhortations of violence during the Reagan years?

Irrespective of how the election goes, the GOP is toast. If Obama wins, the batshiat insane element in the Republican Party will blame the last few responsible adults in the party for not being "conservative" enough. In others, the party will be taken over entirely by the Randoids and raputure-bunnies. It will drift so far out into Insane-o-Land it will never be heard from again.

If Willard wins, it is unlikely that he will deliver all, or even most. of what he promised, in which case, see above.

If Willard wins, and gets most of what he wants, the American economy will be destroyed. Best case scenario: The Randiods and rapture-bunnies will again blame the current gang in charge for not being "conservative" enough. Worst case, they will see conspiracies and sabotage everywhere, like the true paranoiacs that they are. What follows will be a bloodbath.

This kind of thinking is what keeps the liberals awake at night. You can see the bags under their blood shot eyes when you meet them out on the street. Eventually they will run out of Red Bull and 5 Hour Energy drinks and will have to get some sleep.

And the world will be all the better for it.

They should've given him his teleprompter. Great orator. Awful at actually thinking for himself.

That's just it. Any asshole can read words off of a piece of paper (or TelePrompter). I'm an asshole and I had to read a passage out of Proverbs at a friend's wedding. Afterwards, everyone was complimenting me for my time on stage, and I think the bible is bullshiat! All I did was engage the crowd and look down at the words when I needed to.
Obama being a great orator means nothing to me. Watching him umm-ing and uhh-ing through that entire debate was gut-wrenching, and I doubt Biden's performance will move the polls in Obama's direction. Biden is not the president. All that debate proved was that Ryan is young and needs more coaching in national debates. He'll have plenty of time over the next four years before Romney has to run for reelection.
Obama blew it because he couldn't form a cohesive thought in his head. This election was a walk in the park for the president, and he tripped over his own two feet. It's sad.

i'd say that's true of some Republicans. most are law abiding people who either spend their lives in willful ignorance of the world around them or they decide to live in fear and be proud of their chosen lifestyle. VERY few of them actually shoot at Democrats (or anyone else for that matter).

We used to have these vans that were parked on the freeways around the city. They were speed camera vehicles used to capture speeders and send them images and a ticket. Everyone hated them. One night, one of them was shot. Unfortunately it killed the officer that was sitting inside. As he was on the phone with his wife. Dead. They found the guy later that next morning at his house. It turned out he had no idea that anyone was in the van and was shooting it out of frustration.

I'm leaning towards your first option, but with someone who didn't have intent to injure.

It reminds me of that Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy skit on SNL: I wish a robot would get elected president. That way, when he came to town, we could all take a shot at him and not feel too bad.

I'll have to tread lightly here because mods have a raging-hard authority-boner for cops.
