100 kids in 30 YEARS have died. Let me say that again:

100 kids. 30 YEARS. This is not a national crisis. Your kid is in more danger from school lunches, buses, their best friend and the neighbor's dog.

Especially school lunches. See mouse droppings, above.

MisterTweak: I_C_Weener: Actually, this is a problem.  Kids have been killed by either hanging on the goals or being under the goals while another is hanging from them.  They are top heavy and plain heavy.  If not secured, by a simple hooked rebar, they can be dangerous and deadly.

/coach youth soccer.

Not just a few, over 100. Pointing out a hazard and offering a cheap and quick way to correct it seems to merit ridicule lately, though, instead of simple thanks.

A thank you is so easy, anyone can do it.

But a snarky, ridiculing, condesending remark takes, thought, cleverness and wit.

That's why I like Fark.

Agreed its not a national crisis, but those deaths are completely preventable

Yeah, great 100 kids - in three freaking decades? I'm not worried - though my brother was severely injured by one. He and another guy were using a post pounder to put in the base pole. The other guy lifted it a little too high, caught my brother's hand against the post. 13 stitches in his hand.

It's 3.3333... kids a year. Not a big number, no. But since the fix is as easy as staking or sandbagging the back of the goal, why ignore it?

If 3 kids a year were killed by a toy, it would be off the market in an eyeblink.
