Yeah, we're raising 25 thousand dollars plus for charity on a whim started less than four hours ago. If you can do better, man up and get on it, nancy.

Seriously, this. All started by a bunch of random farkers.

Speaking of.... why is givejoethebird.com not forwarding yet?

It works for me

Just...so...perfect.

Not just charity hating. Soldier hating!

Of course, I noticed it was OK to start hating soldiers immediately after DADT was repealed. Funny, that.

This really is the best idea ever. We should buy some big ass woofers and rig it to blast "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake on a loop.

What's nice is, IF there is some political advantage to be won by this, the butt-hurt party leaders won't be able to get anything organized with strategy and talking points until Sunday's news shows. I'm not saying this is anything ground-shaking, but it is interesting that the Republican response strategy may take a long time to be formalized.

Silverstaff: nvmac: Any possibility of getting Biden to sign it before the auction? Has this already been suggested? I'd imagine you could get quite a bit more for the charities if he signed the hood (or allowed his signature to be imprinted), or above the door like a race car; something like that.

I like the idea.

Sounds like they already want to try to get him to do a photo op with The Bird (I say let him take it for a spin in the parking lot, or at least have him sit in the driver's seat and turn on the ignition), but giving him a sharpie and getting him sign the hood? Awesome. Sauce.

And then have a decent pinstripe guy paint it on permanent-like.

Muscle cars really aren't my thing, and I don't have any strong feelings about Joe Biden either way, but I would drive the shiat out of a Trans Am with his signature on the fender.

Hey, Cyclometh what do you think of this?  Think this is possible? I wonder if Drew/the Onion would get involved in this way once the goal is close to being reached.

Perez Hilton: The money raised goes to Doctors Without Borders?

Time to get serious here. I'll alert my contacts at Doctors Without Borders. Let's see if we can get Joe Biden to agree for a photo shoot with the Trans Am and the photo will be auctioned at the annual DWB fundraiser. The theme this year is "Transformation."

http://www.hmbreview.com/arts_and_entertainment/doctors-without-borde r s-fundraiser-starts-again/article_ea336636-13ee-11e2-8105-0019bb2963f4 .html

So cool!!

Has anyone sent links to Biden campaign staff?

He could host a Q & A on fark, similar to what Obama did on Reddit, hey this late in a tight election....

Cool. I'd bet that Doctors Without Borders could do the auction big-time. Take the epic win in progress from the fundraising and multiply it manyfold.

Transformation . . .Trans Am. The name could work well with that.

Personally, I love the idea. Upthread I suggested that once the vehicle is acquired we get a veteran or wounded warrior to drive it to DC. I think it certainly couldn't hurt to ask- probably best if the guy who holds the keys to the indiegogo site does the asking, though. I'll tweet some stuff to @JoeBiden and mention it.

Anyone that has issues with this can certainly go to Charitywatch.org Link and find a respectable charity to give to in honor of Ryan or Romney or whoever you wish.

One other thing, then I'll try to stop spamming this thread. The mention for this being charity needs to be way up at the top, bold, embiggened font. Right now it's a single throwaway sentence all the way down at the bottom. No es bueno.

Well, Yahoo News in their story mentioned this being for charity, even copy pasting the line into their piece.

I'm sure other big box media sources can read as well. If not, we get sarcastic like only Fark can..."Glad to see you do your due diligence in research before writing up a story."
