They don't really love him -- the ironically love him.

I doubt Biden would get it either. I'm sure his people are doing everything they can to keep him away from this. When asked about the Onion article, a while back, he got a little defensive about it -- ""Do you really think I'd drive an '81 Trans Am?"

Try explaining Fark or The Onion to your grandfather who doesn't use the Internet and doesn't understand absurd humor.

Just a heads up... but those of you unfamiliar with web traffic... I'd expect visits/donations/etc to drop off over the weekend and pick up again around 8am Eastern on Monday.

Save some of your energy for Monday and don't get discouraged if you don't see massive action over the weekend (other than perhaps some news mentions as an aside). Apparently, folks prefer to hit the web hard and heavy from work rather than at their leisure (days off).

I can't stand Joe Biden, but I like the lulz and the charity aspect. It's the only reason I'm helping with this ridiculous idea in the first place. That and I've been around a few websites in my time.

RichieLaw: Update: received a very nice message from indiegogo congratulating us on our success over the past hours and offering to help in any way they can. They also suggested delineating what we will do with the monies should we not reach our goal. When I get home I will update the pitch stating that all monies in excess of the Trans Am purchase, expenses and delivery will be split amongst the 4 charities pro rata. Should we not receive enough money to buy a Trans Am, the monies will still be split amongst the charities pro rata.

If any of you have suggestions for anything other than this please let me know now.
