Can you cash out the direct credit card after funding?

This is amazing.

What's the status of the donation page?

This is what Al Gore had in mind when he invented the Internet.

I think the Trans-Am should be PRE-1974, after '74, the cars were underpowered, ESPECIALLY the late 70's and early 80s ones (think Smokey and the Bandit) - those cars were shiat.

Jiro Dreams Of McRibs: Carolus99: If we get an actual short video pitching this idea, it could make it on the daily show or colbert report. That would be better than a blowjob on Christmas.

Now let's not lose our heads here...

/forget the Christmas thing

It's a figure of speech that I want to catch on ;)

RichieLaw: Also added soemthing, so once it is posted let me know if you think it is too much.

As soon as the text is finalized, I'll record an audio version. I just did a quick scratch and think it'll be awesome. :)

I can cough up a couple bucks for this

Count me in for at least 10 beans if this goes live. This is a riot.

I just grabbed http://www.smirkyjoetbird.us

it is a competing website for those disgusted with the whole:

"While we could it for the lolz, what about the charities" seriousors.

Internet lolz, serious business.

coeyagi: coeyagi: Cyclometh: coeyagi: Cyclometh: kumanoki: Cyclometh: Richie, I love the text. Is someone willing to set that to a video with a dramatic "movie trailer guy" voiceover? Because I want to record a reading of that- I can do the voice part but video is not my strong suit.

I'm a professional voice talent. I'll do it. Tonight, if I can.

I'm also a professional VO- I'd like to do it. :)

Who is doing the video? Just need a bunch of stills that crossfade. Should be about 1 min long based on that text. I have Final Cut Pro.

Yeah, that was my thought- bunch of floating stills that fade in and out to the VO. Simple. I'm going to record the audio in a few minutes, put it up on Soundcloud and maybe someone can do something with it.

Ok, I will do it probably Sunday and post to YouTube.

When do we get shut down as a thread? Like 3 or 4 days? Just need to consider lines of communication.

And by Sunday, meaning, tonight if I can get sober from an office celebration that one of the shiatty managers quit her job and is moving outta state.

Update: My sister, the film grad, will do it as soon as the audio is done, assuming it isn't before the celebration of the shiathead manager leaving at 5:30 EST.

RichieLaw: PayPal or Direct Credit Card?

Can you cash out the direct credit card after funding?

Don't use Paypal*. They'll lock up any account that sees a sudden influx of cash and it wouldn't be available for withdraw for anywhere from 21 days to 6 months or more. Not worth the headache.

If you're taking credit cards directly, you have to have a merchant account.

*If you have no other choice, then use Paypal until you can get something better set up.

So, for me, the Indiegogo page is in Draft mode and unviewable and givejoethebird.com is still a parked domain... Do I need to fix something, or is everyone else seeing this too?

machoprogrammer: coeyagi: machoprogrammer: coeyagi: machoprogrammer: BAMFinator: As part of the 1%, Biden can buy his own damn TransAm.

This. (In before the Fark Democrat brigade says "SO VOTE REPUBLICAN!").

How about donating that money to charity instead? Or even NASA?

How about:

A) We've already mentioned a charity at least 3 times (read the f*cking thread)
B) Biden is about the "poorest" of national politicians, from a modest background unlike Romney or Ryan

A. I am down with that (I started typing that earlier and a fire drill delayed finishing my post, excuse me).
B. He is still richer than you and I combined.

Link

You sure about that?

Maximum Net Worth: $190,993

Minimum Net Worth: $-1,260,972

Average Net Worth: $-534,990*

From your link, he pulls in over a quarter million a year (and has tax payers pay for most of his expenses). If he is in the red, too farking bad.

Contrary to popular belief, pulling in a quarter million a year does not make you the 1%.

Many families pull in that much before taxes, which is where we normally look at this. It's particularly not so hard to do in places with incredibly high costs of living, and it does not make you a jetsetter.

But, yeah, you're still quite a bit wealthier than the average Joe the Plumber and should probably not be in the red in that case.

FTFM, please excuse my word salad.

Okay, we have too many links now. Which is the legit one!?

RichieLaw, 4th paragraph from the bottom has a couple of grammatical errors:

In order to let Vice President Biden know just how much we appreciate them him, while also making a very silly part of the internet come true (we are the internet after all); let's buy Uncle Joe a Trans Am like the one that is featured in the Onion article linked to above. It's hilarious, it's awesome and gosh darnit, it's something that we can talk about in addition to the cat pictures and rage comics.

Just doing my part. :)

The "This farking Guy" video might need to be replaced. Just my two cents. Either that or labeled for NSFW content.

I'd like to see some people upset but for the right reasons. Again, just my humble opinion.

BTW, I called out Joe on his coolness BEFORE the debate during a photoshop contest calling for products to endorse celebrities:

I have a dozen or so Paypal business accounts for various projects. Trust me... they'll lock you down when money starts pouring in. It is all sorts of hassle trying to get it straight again.. and their requirements can get ridiculous. You can Google "paypal account freeze" and get a glimpse.

Don't tie it to any account you use personally. It could really screw you up, man.
