Most inappropriate t-shirt to wear for your DUI murder case ever

FTFY subby. Pretty sure hitting someone with your car and trying to flee takes precedence over the DUI

Pic of offending shirt (I did not add the crosshairs):

Clearly not the most inapropriate. I'm thinking something like... "I got drunk and puropesly killed your Son" would be more inapropriate.

Hey, if you are going to skate on thin ice you might as well dance.

Does that mean I can't wear mine in public anymore?

What a twat...

Inappropriate because of the horrible spelling, right?

I once had a client charged wth sexually assaulting another man. On one occassion he wore a shirt that said "I don't sufferfrom insanity, I enjoy every minute of it" and on another occassion he wore a shirt with the name of his snowmobile club - "Rough Riders". Oh yeah, those occassions were Court!

Did you tell him he should be wearing a suit? Or is it just better off to let him be himself for the jury?

I dissabled my google toolbar with spellchecker because it kept killing my browser... and honestly, my 6th grade education didn't work so well for handling the word inappropriate.

No jury because (a) it didn't get that far and (b) no way in hell I'd put this guy in front of a jury. He put a shirt and tie on over the t-shirts before the judge took the stand. That said, after the second time he nearly gave me a heart attack, I made him relinquish all of his "Rough Rider" accoutrements for the duration of the case (trucker hats, t-shirts, license plates, beer coozies etc).

When I took SATOP classes, the instructor said he represented someone accused of possession who wore a pot leaf shirt to court. Great stuff.

...was given R5 000 bail in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court...

5000 Rand = 581 USD.

I hate it when courts set ridiculously high bails, but this is going a tad far in the opposite direction for a murder case.

More inappropriate?

I have to wonder if people choose to wear things like the shirt mentioned in TFA because they somehow think the judge will have a sense of humor about it and be lenient because of it.

last time I was in court for a ticket the judge cited a guy for contempt and ordered him out of the courtroom b/c of the t-shirt he wore to his appearance. I wish I could remember what it said... I know it had the F-bomb somewhere in its message

Mental note. Never hire this dude as your lawyer.

The worst t-shirt I ever saw someone wear in public had one of those generic "Warning: choking hazard" copypastas, and an illustration of one stick figure fellating another. If I remember correctly, the guy was wearing it when he got on a bus.

Since I'm at work, I have no intention of GIS'ing for it.

I saw a defendant, who had to have known that he was going to the crowbar hotel, appear for his sentencing hearing wearing a T-shirt that said, in bold print "SIZE MATTERS".
What was really funny was the guy was only about five foot six, and maybe a hundred and thirty pounds.
The judge told the public defender to see if he couldn't get something else for the guy to wear before he was transported away from the court house after sentencing.
The consensus among the cops and the sheriff's officers that the bigger inmates, the fellows who really run the pen, would probably eat the guy for supper.

How 'bout a jumpsuit?

I work in a courthouse and I'm constantly amused at what people wear for court appearances. What causes a person to think to himself, "I'm appearing in front of a judge today. Should I wear my 'back that ass up' t-shirt or the one with the giant pot leaf?"

2012-10-12 04:38:27 PM
I have a pretty awesome T-Shirt that says, "I'm probably lying".

I have a feeling my T-Shirt would be more detrimental to his defense...

I tried to wear an inappropriate T-shirt to get out of jury duty, but that didn't work either.

/ended up voting guilty, not because the prosecution had any case, but because the dumbass testified and basically confessed on the stand

"Well, Judge it never crossed my mind, but if it had, I'd have recommended he wear something like this"
