Fun facts: The four teams left in the MLB postseason account for all World Series championships between 1931 and 1939. In the 1932-1935 and 1933-1936 spans, each team won a championship.

Mark Ratner: ESPN is all butthurt nowt. No more east coast teams in the nlcs. Hahaha.

The East Coast bias is getting ridiculous.

I turned on ESPN Radio to see if they would talk about the Cardinals game, but no, it's about the Yankees.

I turn on ESPN when I get home to see if they talk about the Cardinals game, but no, it's about the Yankees.

I would've thought it made more sense to talk about the game that just ended instead of the one that ended 4-5 hours ago. But what do I know.

/Even TBS does a better job of covering non-Yankee teams than ESPN.

Chak: Ha! Suck it Nationals! You were pretenders ALL year. The Phillies were hurt, the Braves never played to their potential, and the Mets and the Marlins played like well the Mets and the Marlins, you were lucky to even have been there and it takes more than eye black on an over rated rookie to win the WS

Dude. Don't be an ass.

Suicide of a Phoenix: Mr. Potatoass: Jeebus H. Farking Christ.
Had a brutal work day.
I wanted to snooze after the 3rd inning.
Then I thought: "Remember game 6 of last year's Series"
So I stayed awake.
Are you farking kidding me?

My 8 year old son is in the hospital and may have to have surgery to remove his appendix. Wife is at hospital with him while I am at home with our daughters. This game has helped me from going insane, that's for sure!

Let this be a lesson: when playing the Cardinals in the post-season, bring a stake, cross and holy water.

mainstreet62: The Yanks have OK offense but better pitching, meaning they chose to focus their resources on good pitching, which may or may not be on par with the Nats. At best, they are equal. At worst, they are right behind the Nats.

Nationals: 2nd in MLB with 3.34 ERA. By ERA+ (which is park-adjusted), they're 3rd.
Yankees: 12th in MLB with 3.86 ERA. By ERA+, they're 9th.

So, no.

mainstreet62: idesofmarch: Why the hell couldn't the Yankees have an offense like this?

Because they correctly chose to have better pitching.

Because the 2012 Nats aren't known for their pitching....

I know it's 8:30 vs 5:00, but Nationals Park looks a hell of a lot fuller in the 1st than Yankee Stadium did for their decisive game 5.

Let's go Tigers!

And thank you Yankees for giving me 3 straight (possible) days of work at Comerica. I've never seen a Championship Series game in person, but I'm going to this week.

You know, the only Yankee players who should be celebrating with the champagne are Jeter, Ibanez, Ichiro and the pitchers. The rest should be down in the farking batting cages.

Sorry, but I refuse to allow that these are the new Expos. The Expos are dead and buried. And nothing will ever make up for 1994.

The Nationals have about as much to do with the Expos as Vladimir Putin has to do with a plate of fries with cheese curds and gravy on it.

Also, the Yanks are done. Granderson is already 0-for-3 with two strikeouts today as he tries to figure out the meaning of the phrase "working the count".
