Wow, they finally get a decent moderator, and suddenly "OMG! BUTTHURT! THAT'S NOT FAIR!"

Also: Liberal media split over how to spin Raddatz and Biden's performance at debate

Liberal media? Spin? "Raddatz and Biden's performance"?

Projection much?

t was those uncontained interruptions that defined the debate. Raddatz's passive tolerance of Biden's massive number of interruptions was enhanced by her own periodic interruptions of Ryan.

y'know, i'm sorry but Ryan *deserved* to be interrupted. he SHOULD have been called out on his attempts to wander off topic. the moderator did a damn good job....and Biden was right to point out and openly mock Ryan's more blatant lies. In fact, I can't recall any time ever when Ryan was instantly confronted and/or mocked openly when he got caught in a lie. I don't think Ryan liked it very much at all either, and I understand that the Republicans have to try to salvage whatever they can from the wreckage...but c'mon people.

well of course they are. Biden called Ryan out on his talking points and it's making them all frothy.

yup, no argument from me on that point. I merely find it amusing that the Republicans are so angry when Democrats step up and hit back.

Her first question was to turn to Joe Biden and ask him if our ambassador to Libya died because of an intelligence failure. If Sean Hannity were moderating the debate and he did the same thing, they'd all be walking around with a hard on for three days.

It's a solid point, at least with regard to the headline snark. But I stand by my larger point.

I didn't blame Lehrer after last week. I was wondering where the hell he was, but I wasn't saying he was responsible for Obama's weak performance.

I didn't watch the debate, but I knew Biden crushed it when I walked by the TV in the office foyer that is always tuned to Fox and they were talking about a missing white kid. I can always tell when the media cycle is bad for Republicans because Fox is talking about missing white children.

Yet, none can answer this question:
Ryan said the draw down of troops in Afghanistan is a bad idea because it makes the troops still there less safe. What plan do the Republicans have to make troops safer than bringing them all home by 2014?

I'm glad someone started calling the Romney/Ryan ticket on it's blatant lies. This used to be the job of journalists back when they had a sliver of integrity. It took Biden to do it but it needed to be done. Candidates shouldn't be able to constantly tell lies and go unchallenged. What I can't believe is how the entire media is either saying it's a Ryan win or a tie. I've been closely following politics since the 2000 election and can say with certainty that was the most vicious one sided win I've ever seen at the national level

A few days after the debate when Romney got his bump, the NY Post front page was 'Mitt's Alive!' Odds are tomorrow's front page will be a picture of Biden looking mean with the caption of 'Mean Old Joe.'

I think the GOP rules of engagement are:

1. Republicans are allowed to lie as often as they want.
2. Democrats aren't allowed to fight back.

that's what's got them in a twist: biden fought back.

Republicans have been attacking the media for decades now since they feel nothing said by them should ever be checked. If republicans learnt that lying is bad and stopped they would have a lot more positive stories in the media.

I think the media is so afraid of living up to the "liberal media" lie that they're afraid to challenge conservative candidates. That and they're afraid politicians will start cutting their access to interviews. I watch CNN in the morning as I'm getting ready for work and every day I see politicians from both parties get free air time to spew their talking points. It seems like the media has taken the stance that to preserve 'balanced' coverage, they can't point out factual inaccuracies. I understand that there is some grey area on some topics, but some things are just obvious lies and journalists should be there to help dispel lies, not be part of the mechanism that spreads them

yeah you know it's bullshiat when they attack the moderator for calling him out on his non answers. she asked for specifics,he gave none. kept pivoting back to the talking points.

show us your math work Ryan. This is just like back in school. You have to show your work. You can't just say it works and not explain how.
So this is the numbers guy? has anyone seen his numbers on how he's going toapy for -20% in revenue + 2 trillion to defense + cuts in capital gains and corporate taxes? He wouldn't even promise not to touch the mortgage deductions, child care or the health insurance deductions for the middle class. He was asked point blank about it and couldn't do it. That should be in a campaign ad there.

yup, waiting for Limbaugh to start it up here in a few min. I can't post a line by line/instant review tho...the fark moderators get cranky about that sort of thing. I think I can swing a summary around the 30 min mark though.

This seems like a good thread to ask this question. Why is the media liberal? I don't mean "give me examples & show me" sort of why. I mean, what is their end-game? Why would the media be so biased? And according to our friends in the GOP, the media has held a liberal bias for quite some time, regardless of who is in power. Why is that?

surely that strategy won't draw attention to biden's coolly decimating retort
