My WRX is Blue, my STI is probably going to be DGM or Red.

To paraphrase my comment in the other car color thread, I just bought a red car because I've noticed myself having increasing difficulty seeing grey/silver cars in low lighting conditions and I figure that plenty of other folks have the same problem. So I went red to maximize my visibility.

Your local police force immediately thanks you for your kindness. They don't call it "Arrest me Red" for nothing.

/owned a red car, got pulled over 3 times.

Meta repeat. Nice.

I stick with dark silver. Shows off the lines and contours, and doesn't show dirt. White and black show dirt, as well as hide most of the fine details. You have to have a paint color that has internal contrast - a muted shade with fine poly - in order to really have the design details pop.

Or go candy coat. Loads more work though.

/resale value? what's that?
//couldn't sell my car if I wanted to - not technically street legal
///don't want to

When I drove a silver car I noticed a lot of people would pull out in front of me and get incredibly close to hitting me. Finally had someone total it because they merged into my lane without seeing it.

And many articles have disproved red cars getting pulled over more than any other color.

It's not just in low light. It's all the time. Grey/Silver cars blend into the road and horizon. Just means ya gotta be hyper-alert all the time.

/should be hyper-alert behind the wheel anyway

A car is an appliance. I don't get my self-worth from my car. It exists to serve a need. I don't work for my car, it works for me.

I am averaging one ticket every 16 years since I got my license and the car is a Honda Fit, so I'm not to worried about becoming a revenue stream for the local constabulary. My wife blowing through red light cameras is a bigger worry.
