Yeah, there's an important word in there, subby... something Anderson can do that Bristol cannot.

"Reading."

2012-10-12 04:36:43 AM
"Reading news from a desk"?

2012-10-12 04:36:58 AM
I'm going to have to go with what subby is implying here --

Very few people have had it easier than Anderson Cooper. People like that find it impossible to fail.

AC was born with certain advantages and connections but has also worked and made a successful career. Bristol is cashing in on getting knocked up and being a hyprocrite about it and riding the shirttails of her vapid mother. There is a difference subby.

2012-10-12 05:11:53 AM
And?

2012-10-12 05:38:43 AM
And yet, I'll bet subby thinks that a Harvard and Yale educated son of a billionaire ex-president was an everyman political outsider running a daring grassroots campaign in 2000.

It doesn't matter what he started with, I say media peoples get a pass when they've gone to a warzone. They are real journalists after wearing a helmet and ducking behind shiat for a few days/weeks

I believe that having everything handed to you on a platinum platter only makes you evil and worthless if you diagree with my political ideology.

Not subby... that last post kinda implies that I am.

Eh Anderson became indifferent to such things after witnessing the genocide in Rwanda in his early twenties. He paid his dues early. When Bristol has had to do anything after being born to Wasilla high society besides shill for abstinence groups after dropping a kid as an unwed mother, she can get a pass too.

2012-10-12 07:24:52 AM
Hell, if any Palin could find work, I'd be surprised! BIATCH(ES) GET A JOB

2012-10-12 07:32:35 AM
Anderson Cooper gets to say what everybody should do or not do because he has two last names or something?

This. I'd say he's earned his cushy talking head job. It's not as if he never worked for it.

What kind of real job could she get? Working a drive through or dancing on a pole?

2012-10-12 07:41:12 AM
I think it's awesome what a respected journalist he is, after being a game show host and before that, host of ABC's overnight news where he would throw pencils and paper clips at the camera crew rather than do the news.

Oh wait, no I don't.

2012-10-12 07:46:12 AM
So, what is Bristol's job? Reality show contestant?

2012-10-12 07:48:57 AM
Anderson Cooper cracks up and has giggle fits.

2012-10-12 07:56:01 AM
Fark you Subby. He's worked hard for years to become a respected journalist. Never once have I heard him running around saying "My mother is Gloria Vanderbilt".
/Anderson Cooper is the only good thing about CNN

2012-10-12 07:58:22 AM
So we can add "journalism" to the list of jobs that aren't really jobs? I'll put it right next to "community organizer".

All that sniper fire he was taking right?

2012-10-12 08:01:02 AM
Mmm. Anderson Cooper graduated from Yale, spent two summers interning at the CIA, studied Vietnamese at the University of Hanoi, and earned his media career by working his way up.

Somehow, I think comparing him to a girl whose only claim to fame is getting knocked up while her mother was campaigning for vice president is not quite relevant.

: Fark you Subby. He's worked hard for years to become a respected journalist. Never once have I heard him running around saying "My mother is Gloria Vanderbilt".

Hear hear. He's a VANDERBILT and never has to work another day in his life. Yet he works, and actually does a pretty good job of holding people's feet to the fire when he interviews them.

Maybe in 20 years Bristol Palin will somehow be relevant politically, but I ain't holding my breath.

Make sure not to add "slutty hypocrite"; apparently, Republicans can now major in it.

Teh Gay has mutated Cooper; usta be a convivial reporter, and once he bashed down the closet, he started moaning about "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and having slapfights with Starr Jones. He's the Johnny Storm of broadcasting.

2012-10-12 08:04:24 AM
Well, to be fair, were Anderson capable of getting knocked up in his teens, he just might have.

maybe she doesn't want to be politically relevant now or in 20 years. If she ends up married, raising her kids and being a good mom and wife and not working a paying job for the rest of her life, i would consider her a success.

Why does Anderson Cooper care what Bristol does and does not do.

2012-10-12 08:08:02 AM
He's just pissed cuz his man is cheating with a hottie that doesn't look like Casper.

2012-10-12 08:10:42 AM
I like AC. Just not in that way.

2012-10-12 08:21:32 AM
I understand that he was born with wealth and connections, but given what he does, and seeing how he does it, I'd find it hard to believe he has not put forth some significant effort into his career. But, whatever. I may be wrong as I am not fully educated on his past and how he has built his career.

I read one of his books. Rich kid went to freakin' Rwanda, and elsewhere. Basically, he got his job by being crazy enough to go to very bad places, places where people die, and walk around talking to people on camera. He did this until someone gave him a regular job at a network affiliate. Rich kid with many advantages, yeah, but I was born into a poor family and didn't go to genocide zones. That's certifiable shiat, right up there it going to see prop comics perform, and running when not being chased..

Of all the people to call bullshiat on, Anderson Cooper is way down the list.

2012-10-12 08:35:29 AM
Subby, "reading news from a desk" IS a real job.

2012-10-12 08:36:08 AM
Ya whatever, AC has gone to the shiattiest places on the mother farking planet to report on devastating situations. I'd like to see you do that subby, without breaking down and crying like a baby girl. You think you'd hop on a plane to Haiti after the quakes, China, New Orleans ...

2012-10-12 08:39:07 AM
Is it possible that his criticism comes from seeing some squandered potential in Bristol and wanting her to do more because he thinks she's capable of it? Or is that too less-cynical (or whatever the alleged opposite is)?

Besides, I sort of thought the kind of people who feel the need to defend the Palins admire super rich people who think takers need to get a real job.

/None of us like takers, It's just that some of us think retirees, teachers, and veterans are takes, and some of us think people like Bristol Palin are takers.

The children of a governor sure don't have any advantages at all.

And are we seriously trying to argue that second banana on a failed reality show actually is real work?

Sorta what I was thinking. I still don't watch, but I appreciate that he's not desk bound like Wolf Blitzer, who has the ultimate war correspondent name.

Am I the only one who dislikes Anderson Cooper's hair? Like, it really bugs me for some reason. And not sure why

Hey, remember when Bristol Palin was down in New Orleans, still covering the damage long after most other journalists stopped caring?

2012-10-12 09:26:24 AM
Guy was covering news stories from Somalia and Bosnia in the early ninties. i'd say he's paid his dues.
