Look, I'm willing to overlook a lot of disgusting behavior and malfeasance on Fark. I'm willing to put up with your snark, your garbage, your hatefulness and your small-minded hatred. I will not, however, stand idly by and let anyone besmirch the good name of Jodie Sweetin. Good day.

A preview - exclusive to Farkers - of my soon-to-be-published diet program:

Eat less
Eat good-quality food
Don't drink calories
Exercise
Really, don't drink calories

When I'm a gazillionaire I might sponsor some people for TotalFark.

Seriously, if you're spending money to lose weight, you're doing it very wrong.

Meh. That's what Weight Watchers is. The difference is that there's someone to make sure I do it. Besides, it's free once you get down to your goal weight and keep it off for a while.

Over the last two years, I've lost more than 40 lbs on WW. Don't knock it just because you don't need it.

Who is the spokesperson for WW now? Does it matter? The spokeswoman for Jodie Sweetin's "Crystal Meth the Flab Away" plan is far superior. MILF.

Exactly this. WW is pretty much a cheap personal trainer/nutritionist. You get weighed once a week, they keep you tracking what you eat and aware of it, along with providing motivation. They charge just enough that you're not just going to blow it off, because you don't want to waste the money, but not so much that the average person who is remotely serious about losing weight can't afford it. It's a really great program.

I have lost about 12 lbs so far (about a month and a half in) with the online-only version (and pretty much no exercise). I would be doing better if I took it more seriously. The mobile apps make tracking intake and weight pretty easy. Most commercial foods can be scanned with the barcode scanner to give you the point total per serving.

I was pretty good at tracking stuff until I figured out a bunch of stuff that I could eat without getting a lot of points. I can now go day-to-day without worrying about it. I still pull out the scanner if I am doing something different. Restaurants can still be an issue, but there are sites that help figure out the points for that as well.

FTFY

And I know whereof I speak. In January 2010 I weighed 97 kilos (about 214 pounds) at 5'7" inches. I started working out thrice weekly with a former colleage who opened a fitness business (at a cost of about $10 per session) and eating right. When I moved to another city a couple of months later, I took up distance running. Kept dropping weight slowly, and to date have lost about 46 pounds, dropped four clothing sizes, and completed two half-marathons with a goal of running a full one in March.

Ultimately, it all comes down to you - adults should be able to change bad habits without paying for tracking and oversight.

Kudos!

Count me among the converted. Weight Watchers: 1 Nutritionist appointment once a week: 0

Not much exercise the first year and a half besides walking 3-4 miles 5-6 days a week. Eat less food + better quality food + move once and awhile = success!

I`ve lost over a stone in 3 months just from

Exercise

Haven`t changed the contents of my diet, still eat chocolate, burgers, chips, fried eggs, butter, cream, roast potatoes, and all the things I was eating before. I`m stronger, fitter, happier.

I eat what I want, when I want it. Yesterday I ate two cheese and pickle sandwiches (done in a sandwich maker), a baked potato with cheese and beans, a tuna and mayo 6" sub, a whole box of chocolate seashells and a bowl of cereal.

Without the exercise I would need a radical diet change to affect my weight. Your body wants to keep fat on unless you need to do more work than is sensible if you are fat. Then your body makes you the right shape for the work you need to do to get your calories.

If I followed your plan I would lose weight faster but I`m happy eating what I want and losing a couple of pounds a week and gaining lots of muscle mass.

WW is like nicotine patches, when you stop using the patches you just have another thing to overcome on your way to not needing a crutch. They are useful if you need them but it is better to not need them. And it costs money which would be better used improving your diet or paying for a gym membership.
