was going to come in and make a joke about them being "studs" but I'm glad I clicked on the link first. Studs indeed. Just wow.

That's nothing. I can build a rectangular house out of Lego.

I wish they would release the instructions to build this or any of the elaborate sets they build. I love LEGOS but I am lost without the directions.

That's awesome, but I am equally interested in that sweet Star Destroyer in the background.

That's just one of the Ultimate Collectors Series sets. I've got the Shuttle on their left as well as the X-Wing and the Super Star Destroyer. That star destroyer set will set you back about 1300 bucks and take you about 12 hours to put together.

Grapple: good lord, they have too much free time.

Older guys in their late 40's maybe early 50's, either had no kids or the kids have gone off to college, possible divorced, yeah you end up with a shiat load of time on your hands and not enough crap to fill it.

2012-10-12 11:30:34 AM
Where did they get those wonderful toys?

2012-10-12 11:35:15 AM
One of these two guys is in charge of BrickCon, the biggest Lego show on the west coast. He has, even for a serious collector, a farkload of bricks. His entire garage is basically racks of sets and loose brick.

Cool...I have the Millennium Falcon one. Took my son and I four weeks. Worth every penny I paid...all 7,000 of them.

Jesus. I was only familiar with the Super Star Destroyer, which I want So. Much. And the midi-sized Star Destroyer that I already have.

So far the Imperial Shuttle was the most challenging build and the x wing the most rewarding. Not so much swoop factor but looks amazing on my shelf of nerdom. I want the Falcon but that's not happening until I finish my basement or buy a 2nd house to store my hobbies.

70 bucks for the falcon? The one on Amazon is 300,000 pennies at least :S Link

I bow to your superior skilz.

I can get the walls of a rectangular house, but no useful doors or windows. Forget about a roof.

These guys are mind botteling

I have a LOT of sets. More than most people. High end to low, but I've never been impressed with the Star Destroyers (or most of the Star Wars UCS). Hooray! Thousands of grey plates to put together!!!

That's why the X-wing is my favorite.

I'm kinda torn between the X Wing and that newer kit from Episode Minus Two.

I'm nearly done with the Sith Interceptor from TOR, just have to finish the starboard side. No idea what I'm going to do next.

I like the Star Destroyer design in general. Very imposing, blunt, monstrous design. Not real happy with the way the mid sized lego kit went together though, it's super flimsy.

Funny you mention it. I never even liked the B wing design, but the kit looks so well done, I'm still tempted.

It's like any hobby, you work on it a few hours at a time, and it adds up.

I speak from experience.
