Jet fan. and this is ludicrous. Honestly, Slausons hit was completely absurd. He should be suspended. Not joking at all. The lack of concern for defensive players is laughable.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets offensive lineman Matt Slauson has been fined $10,000 for an illegal peel-back block on Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing in Monday night's game.

see, this is kinda what I've been saying about the play in Week 3 where the Patriot LB or S, CB, whatever, hit arizona TE Todd Heap and was flagged for either a late hit or out of bounds, and was flagged 15yards. Heap hasn't played since. WTF?

It speaks to the talent pool assembled under Rexie. The NFL would do well to see a few years minus the Ryans, Gregggggggggg Williams.

$10K, that's all? At least this is the league acknowledging it was a dirty play. Slauson is going to appeal because "coach said it was a clean hit". Anytime a 300 lb. guy lunges and rolls to the side/back of a planted leg, bad things are bound to happen. These players have a brotherhood and it won't surprise me to see Slauson get clipped in the back of the legs at some point this season.

Yes, you're upset.

However, if we made people get suspended for injuring Todd Heap, half the league would've been suspended just for that alone. The dude gets injured EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.

/still like him since he went to ASU

10k for intentionally injuring a defensive player. 20k for accidentally touching a WR or QB in the wrong area. (Offensive) Player safety is the NFL's number one concern.

FTA:

Earlier Thursday, Houston defensive coordinator Wade Phillips called the hit unnecessary. "Whether it was legal or not, all that stuff -- I think it's just unnecessary to hit a defensive player when he can't see you," Phillips said.

/Sure I think the guy should be suspended too, but...seriously, Wade. Shut up.

Yes, because penalties like clipping/block in the back don't exist

Better yet, why the fark is it illegal to block someone from behind, but not illegal to cut them from behind?
