You wouldn't need all those other people if you were playing with a boomerang like a proper Australian.

2012-10-11 03:41:25 PM
They've obviously never seen how I throw a frisbee

To be fair, ultimate is an organized sport... But that doesn't sound like someone is running a league there... Just friends playing pickup

What do you call an Australian teatard? Because I found one in the comments (or a brilliant troll):

We really don't need councils. It could all be outsourced to private companies at a lower cost and with more accountability. There is much corruption within the councils and funds are misappropriated on a regular and consistent basis. In some instances there have been organized crime involved because it is nothing more than a slush fund for the local suckers (rate payers)

That's just the way they spin the story. They'll throw anything out there to see if it floats.

Beware of the Frisbee Police.

Heard in a Oz lockup:
Hey, what did they get you on?
Tossing a frisbee without a permit.And creating a nuisance.
Boy. we don't like your kind here. Go over there and sit on the bench marked Group W.

You called your friend and asked him if he wants to play Frisbee?
That's organization byaaatch!

Does this cut back on roving gangs of frisbee throwers?

What about a baseball? Or are those kids OK?

Those baseball gangs are furies.

The park we hang out in is sometimes invaded by the frisbee losers. They somehow feel that they deserve 100 yards by 20 yards of space, even though there is a perfectly good area for organized sports across the street.

We tend to ignore their cones if we decide to kick a ball around etc. Because, well, they're frisbee losers.

3) Now freedom must be fundamental, in Johannesburg or South Central. On the mic, 'cause someone should tell 'em to kick in the township rebellion. Why stand on a silent platform?

4) Fight the war, fark the norm

DIsc Golf is not a crime! Fark....that's one silly law I'll gladly break. Send me a ticket I'll never pay already.

On a related topic, is there anyone in the world who still does freestyle? It was my life for the first year or two of college, but I've only encountered people doing it once in the last 25 years or so -- and that time, they were on the beach and I was at the top of a 300-foot cliff. I didn't want to join in that badly.

It sounds like the city has a permit rule for organized events and some farkwit cop decided to use that as an excuse to stop the kids from having fun. Didn't see anything in the article that said the city council was trying to stop them from playing frisbee.

If you criminalize Frisbee, only criminals will have Frisbees. Or something.

I think it's: Frisbees don't kill people, people throwing frisbees with razorblades kill people.

Time to rewatch Master of the Flying Guillotine.

FTA: "They're just kids at the end of the school week doing something better than going down to the pub and drinking"

Well, maybe THEY SHOULD go down to the pub and get wasted... Either you pay $120 for the permit or $20 for the booze.

What we need is a modified air cannon that can fire frisbees at high velocity over several kilometers. Because it isn't an organized sport when it's SCIENCE!

How long before someone tries to pay the permit fee with a large bag of weed?

So like, be cool... this is a quarter of dank. We good?

Is it just me or does everyone else hear the word "permit" and prepare to get screwed? And why is it always a permit for something you just shouldn't have to register with the govt. or be taxed for?

BTW, did you know that Frisbees spin the opposite way down under?

Did you know that in Australia "down under" means your junk?

In Australia, frisbees are referred to as "jiffy discs" or "bush plates" and were originally intended to be used by colonials to do away with mentally retarded children. They'd take the slow children to the edge of the bush, and throw the disc as far in as possible, telling the child to fetch it. They'd then run back to the village, leaving the slow child to fend for him/herself. The practice grew out of favor in the 19th century, but continued in remote areas until the 1950's. An even lessen known fact is that Paul Hogan was one of the only reported cases of an abandoned child to actually survive.

You're ok, you know, but like.. I'm starting to get irritated with people and this whole "BECAUSE SCIENCE" thing. I understand that should you choose to look at things in that light, yes, there are scientific principles involved, but the examples I see are always well within the bounds of high school science classes. "It floats because SCIENCE! Take that Creationists! I hate my parents!".

Actually, it does. Who's instituting the fee? The bureaucracy. Who benefits from the fee? The bureaucracy.

Last time I went to the park with a frisbee and one friend it turned into 3 frisbees and about 12 people. I would not call that organized.
