I hate this trend. I went looking for costumes for my 14 year old. Almost all of them in her size range were 'sexy'. Not only is that inappropriate for a young teen, but for chrissake it is COLD in Michigan at the end of October.

I remember in 1st grade one of my classmates had one of those cheap store bought costumes of rainbow brite with the mask and the plastic apron. The eyeholes in the mask were cut into rainbow brite's forehead. That was the scariest thing I saw that halloween. I used to think those store bought costumes meant your parents didn't care about you. I made my halloween costumes with my mom every year, in retrospect it was probably because we were poor.

I still prefer making my halloween costumes. This year I plan on being this. You would probably have to live in Indianapolis to get it though.

I don't know what empty chair you're shouting at, but we're not necessarily saying women should stop wearing miniskirts and wear costumes on Halloween instead.
Maybe we're saying as long as it's not a costume at all, wear the miniskirt every other day of the year and don't wear anything on Halloween.
