I can understand the paranoia. The media loves to find little tidbits and turn them into sound bites.

But how evil can a man be who says the following: "Forget about me for a moment, man," Ahmed said. "You're obligated, now that you know about it, and you're a reporter, I think that you have every obligation in humanity to do that, to save millions of lives around the country. Let people know what compounding really is."

He's biased about his work (no surprise there) but seems genuinely interested in using his business to help people.

From what I understand there are no donations to Obama. Super PACs are independent of candidates.

Thank Citizens United.

Yeah... I was waiting for some kind of salacious payoff with this article.

Exactly. The Supreme Court must know what they're doing.

Yet still not as creepy as the Koch bro's.

He's a Muslim donating to Barack Obama. Are you not outraged?

Muslim drug dealers are all paranoid? I think he's just frowning all the time.

Hey! I'm not paranoid!

/everyone really is out to get me

I'm...outraged?...by this. Definitely.

Exactly. As long as the "other guy" is doing worse things, what's the big deal?

I don't know where you get these people from-- maybe it's drugs...

Now this is the the fun part of getting stoned-- they get stoned then they become paranoid! Now when they started out they said "lets get high and have fun" now they high and they're paranoid.

He sounds reclusive and interested in keeping his money and supporting people who encourage his religious choices.

My outrage meter doesn't even register a meh here.

I would rearrange that thought. What's the big deal? Also, the "other guy" is doing worse things.

So, I ask you, what's the big deal? The guy's a bit kooky, but the article says this:

No one I talked to for this story suggested there was anything about compound drugs and the workers' compensation system in California that could be directly affected by federal policy

If you support Citizens United, what's the problem with this guy? He's a citizen. He runs a successful business. He's not trying to ram any particular legislation through the federal government. He just likes the recognition that being a big spender gets him, and realizes that he'd better direct that spending at the Democrats if he doesn't want to end up schmoozing with people who think he's a terrorist.

Had baka-san said "What's the big deal?" I would not have responded at all. However, he basically did a "b-b-but the other guy!" which is what I responded to.

My personal opinion on this whole thing = meh.

Ah, your side is bad, so don't bring it up. Got it.

No, it's more of a "don't accept your 'side' doing shiat just because the other 'side' does that shiat too" thing. Again, my opinion on this particular issue is that I don't give a shiat. The "b-b-but" stuff is just asinine though, IMHO, and it isn't limited to this particular thread.

Both of the candidates are feckless pieces of shiat AFAIC. My 'side' is not allowed to play in their reindeer games, but that's a whole other issue.

"I hang out with governors, U.S. Senators, Nancy Pelosi is a personal friend," Ahmed said. "OK, listen, a lot of people are my personal friends."

No, you are a sugar daddy. Once you stop giving money, see how long these people remain your friends

That guy sounds like the typical businessman slimeball hiding behind philanthropic words and shell companies.
He's also a moron for following a "messiah" that lived so recently; at least the old religions get to hide behind the sands of time.

Ahmadiyyas aren't considered Muslims in Pakistan... Their beliefs contradict the Quran on the Armageddon. More importantly they were considered collaborators during the colonial period of India.

It was four pages of wasted bandwidth and time. We get it his name is AHMED and he is a donor to the Obama campaign.

AHMED!!!!!
