Just grab her boobs and squeeze really hard.

That's quite the diversion. But looking at a regular map there's nothing really around that could have been better or even "on the way". It's not like from the east coast where you can stop at Gander.

Chicago? I thought it was Detroit that was used for punishment.

Kind of stupid that because they weren't in US airspace, she can get away with anything.

Although now I guess I know where to join the mile-high club.

Federal authorities declined to pursue charges against the woman, 34, from Redondo Beach, Calif., and because the flight was over Canada at the time of the incident, no local charges were brought against her.

Hey, nice loophole to avoid charges - just be over foreign airspace when you act out.

"...the flight was canceled after the incident"

They stranded EVERYONE in Chicago???

The city's fine, but I'm pretty sure O'Hare is a portal to hell and everyone who works there is a demon.

That stood out to me, not exactly good press for united even thought they probably just moved everyone to one of the other billion chicago/heathrow flights.

I will say that I do think flight attendants and pilots are becoming very "zero tolerance"ish about this stuff. I remember flying pre 9/11 and it would take a serious threat to the plane/passengers/crew before they would divert a flight (especially one like LAX->LHR). I think they have made air travel so frustrating and annoying everyone is just miserable by the time they are in the air crew and passengers.

The contrast of a gate area from 2000 to now is really striking. Now it reminds me of a greyhound terminal.

Those long-haul planes do tend to have lots of closet space for crew baggage and whatnot... and surely between crew and passengers, somebody would have something that could be crushed and added to her next drink, to "help her sleep."

Of course, between the "help her sleep" part and actually putting her in the closet, there are just so many other options, most of which involve permanent markers, cameraphones, bukkake, social networking sites, or all of the above. I'm just sayin'.
