You'd have a real hard time trying to steal and pawn my TV. First, it's tethered to the mounting bracket with a steel cable security seal. You'd need a bolt cutter and 15 minutes to get the TV where you could maneuver the cutter to the cable.

Then you'd have a 55" TV and no base. That's in the original box, which is in the back of the spare closet, behind a pile of crap. Yes, I have the box the TV came it, it's small enough to store for next time I move.

I have all my serial numbers photographed and in Evernote. I have non-name brand computers that you'd have a hard time hocking anywhere. You could steal my Xbox 360 and I probably wouldn't notice since I've played that for about 5 hours in the past year.

Well in most(if not all) states you have to provide photo ID and a fingerprint to pawn stuff, so using a fake name is not an option.

Of course most things besides vehicles and guns aren't really easily traceable ( most people don't document SNs on electronics and its not like you register them with the GOVT like guns and vehicles) so basically if you go outside of the city/county its reported stolen in you are probably safe unless you happen to have stole it from an anal retentive person that documented their SNs

Protip: when making a snarky headline about protips, make sure you understand enough about the subject to be successfully snarky.

You must a valid ID to pawn something.
