From a Yahoo story (didn't see it in the article). This was read in the courtroom (with many of the victims in there):

Then, worst of all, he said he would remember more.

He would remember the kids.

"I see my throwing thousands of kids up in the air, hundreds of water balloon battles, happy times, people laughing with us," Sandusky said. "I see kids laughing and playing, and I see a loveable dog licking their face."

He's fine with being in prison because the memories of the children will last him the rest of his life. He's a sick, twisted, evil man who deserves nothing but the worst prison has to offer.

Of course the memories of the children will stay with him. He needs something to think about while he rubs one out.

Nobody mentioned the impact of abandonment, neglect, abuse, insecurity and conflicting messages that the biological parents might have had in this," he wrote.

The attorney I gather he never listened to, based on how this all transpired.

Exactly. Especially the legal advice about not using the sentencing hearing to bash the victims and the legal system in front of the guy who's going to sentence you.

In them, Jerry Sandusky expressed little sympathy for the 10 boys he was convicted of molesting. As he wrote about their families, he tried to shift the blame, pointing out that the boys came from unstable homes.
"Nobody mentioned the impact of abandonment, neglect, abuse, insecurity and conflicting messages that the biological parents might have had in this," he wrote. He said nothing about the damaged lives and institutions his molestation case left in its wake.

"See, they would have been raped worse if they stayed with their biological parents! I made sure that they were only raped a little bit."

Yep. I say they lock him up with the worst killers they have in the Pennsylvania prison system and give the killers orders to kill him.

Ah, hubris. So THAT'S how it works.
Mr. Sandusky, who may or may not have personal charisma, I don't know, seems to think living and working in the epicenter of power at Penn State still bestows some immunity upon him.
He believes that immunity allows him to disregard normal rules of human interaction in situations where humility is called for.

(He's an ugly old freak, not sure how personal charisma comes out of that.)

If prosecuters/judges were seriously focused on justice, they would throw this asshole into general population and let nature take it's course

That's why guys like this prey on kids from "broken" homes or those who were in trouble. They figure that the victims past will kep them quiet or in the worst case be a means to say "see he's a liar".

Actually, your initial pic works pretty damned well, IMO. Just pretend the puppy is Sandusky, and the cat is an 8 year old boy.

Sandusky reads too many I AM RIGHT posts. He is quite impressionable and as vulnerable to derp as a lot of Pennn State apologists.

But what a spectacularly horrible time to try and play that angle as a defense.

And yet, everyone was blissfully unaware that the guy was a monster?

When asked directly whether he molested children, on NATIONAL TV, he couldn't deny it.

Maybe the Three Stooges should have just asked him. In any case, I hope someone brains his wife.

Just like a psychopath, it is everyones fault but his own.

He thinks he did nothing wrong. He has justified his actions in his own mind. It is a shame that we will never get the opportunity to discover how he justified his actions in his own mind.

I am not advocating for someone to hit her, but would it really do any good? She already seems to have been lobotomized.

Yup, and it also means that he'll never name his partners. If he had guilt or remorse it could get used by the authorities but he's totally innocent in his mind just like all his buddies.

At this point, it doesn't matter. He's got enough testimony against him that he's going to be in jail for the rest of his life whether that be 3 weeks or 30 years.

2012-10-11 04:30:58 PM
FTFA: Just as letters to one of the boys he was accused of molesting helped secure his conviction, the letters to the judge all but guaranteed a maximum punishment, legal observers say.

I'm not sure what these "legal observers" were observing, but his punishment was an order of magnitude below the maximum possible.

I am guessing they were referring to the fact that his sentence was 30-60 years.

My counterpoint to that would be that if he really was a psychopath, wouldn't he burn them to get a reduced sentence? I am not saying he isn't or that he doesn't have partners, but wouldn't it make sense for him to use that leverage if he had it and was actually a psychopath?
