You may laugh at this statement, but this kid looked LeBron-esque at times during the tournament last year. Just the ability of a ~6'9" guy to run the floor, ball in hand, and be able to either find an open teammate or finish strong to the rim. LeBron has been described as a freight train when he gets to going like that, and you saw a little bit of that with White as well.

I'm rooting for the kid.

Grantland did a short documentary where they followed him on draft day. Seems like a good guy with pretty severe issues that he's extremely open about. I thought it was worth a watch.

Yeah, the dude is a badass player. He was supposed to come to UK, but this is the reason he chose to stay at ISU. He seems like a really good kid too, I want to see him get past this.

I'm rooting for him too, but how the FARK do you expect to be an NBA player while being unable/afraid to go on an airplane

/know it's not his fault but still

And now that I actually read TFA, I see they gave the same link in the 2nd freaking sentence. Oh well.

At least it appears he's grown out of his stealing shiat phase he went through at Minnesota.

I think from a logistics perspective it might be do-able. When they're not trying to squeeze 3/4 of a schedule into half the time, the NBA schedule seems fairly realistic from a travel perspective. Teams do east and west (and Texas) "swings", there's usually an off day if you're doing serious travel on a roadie. Especially in Houston, with a lot of their road games in-state or at like Memphis or New Orleans.

I think the biggest issue would be him having to be away from the team a lot of the time, needing to get on the road sooner/showing up later, probably missing some team meetings/meals, etc.

He is buying a bus to travel in when he can. Otherwise, I believe he will have to go by plane for some trips.

Anxiety disorders suck. i went to the doctor for mine and was basically given the "Paxil up, freak" option. Decided against it. Took a job where I don't have to deal with very many people. Still get the panic attacks, but not nearly as often, or as bad.
