I'm with you, Wholesale Ass. I was pretty excited until I saw Jonah Hill's face in the trailer. How does this unfunny piece of shiat keep getting work!?

Wholesale Ass: I wont be seeing this movie because Jonah Hill is in it.

This, and what carmody said too.

Gentlemen, gentlemen! I share your disdain for Hill, but let's not write this immediately. He *might* actually have a fleeting, innocuous role(maybe a cameo) and it won't diminish our enjoyment of the flick. Stay positive!

Fixed.

Just because he's been in awful movies does not make him an awful actor. See Robert DeNiro.

He was great in Ray, Booty Call, and Ali.

.....not to mention Collateral and,to a lesser extent, the misbegotten Miami Vice.

I'm not watching any trailers. I just assume this will be awesome. I did a total pre-release media blackout on Inglorious Basterds, and it ended up being my favorite Tarantion flick since Pulp Fiction.

No, hes a horrible, wooden actor. He delivers his lines like a dead pan comedian who misses the joke, he makes Will Smith seem like Marlon Brando in terms of acting ability, hes a terrible, terrible actor.

And he pretty much ruined that movie for me, if anyone else was in that role Tom Cruise would get more attention for playing a psycho, it was great.

The guy that played the morgue attendant in Collateral was my best man when I got married.

Cymbal: Electric_Banana: DarkPascual: I've stated many times that I'm a HUGE Tarantino fanboy... so I'm in...

Me, too. But for some reason this doesn't look all that great to me. I'll see it for sure, I am just not as excited as I usually am for a QT movie.

That's because Pulp Fuction was his masterpiece. He will never top it. So everything afterward is good, maybe even great, but you can't help but feel disappointed after watching it.

That's an opinion. I like the indy feel and intensity of Reservoir Dogs over Pulp Fiction. I might even put Kill Bill (I and II) ahead of Pulp Fiction.

It don't matter...about the only writers/producers/directors I make it a point to see are Scorcese (sp?), Tarantino and the Coen Brothers.

And it's been years since I've seen any of them, but weren't all of Eastwood's spaghetti western roles basically just the same dirtbag in a different town? He wasn't a "good guy" in any of them, just one bad guy out of many in whatever particular movie it happened to be, no?

Pretty much this.

/laughed at Payback's "get ready to root for the bad guy" tagline

Tarantino can do no wrong in my eyes. Everything he's done is eminently watchable.

/good to see that Death Proof is getting some love in here

Well to be honest, Clint was more indifferent than a good or bad guy, whereas Payback was about a criminal getting revenge, so the tagline is factually correct.

Actually, Jamie is the award winning thespian.

The orginal story ran on TV for a year back in 1968 - 1969.

"Jemal David and Earl Corey. One black, one white; one ex-Union soldier, ex-Confederate officer; one ex-slave, one ex-slave owner. Together, they are the Outcasts."

Those words opened a series telling the story of bounty hunter Earl Corey (Murray) who teams up with newly released slave Jemal David (Young) in the 1860s.

Although only 26 episodes were made, its short run probably reflected the rapidly changing U.S. racial climate in the late 1960s more than the quality of the series itself. The show was also criticized for "excessive violence

so did I.

Its worth it for the dance scene alone, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a cheer leader outfit

Sure, if only any of the characters in the dance scene mattered at all. A writer on his game would have dealt with the whole first car of girls before the opening credits.

tonguedepressor: Does anyone know if Clint Eastwood was ever cast as a bad guy in film or television?

Or John Wayne for that matter?

Wayne's character in Red River is more the bad guy than his character in the Searchers.

/That's Montgomery Clift, honey!

Yup. Some of QT's movies are better than others, but every one I've watched has been at the very least entertaining.

Oh - I really dug Death Proof, a lot. Guess I'm the turd in the punchbowl.

B.L.Z. Bub: All style, no substance. Like watching a goddamn music video. I don't mind that lots of people dig it, I just don't get why it's claimed that his movies are somehow "better" or have more "artistic vision" than your average Baysplosion-filled blockbuster.

If we accept your premise than it's because Bay's movies lack both substance and style. Even at his worst, in Tarantino's films cool people do cool things. Michael Bay's movies are just a series of explosions and if the transitions between the explosions resemble dialogue or plot it's purely an accident.

This...might not suck. It doesn't look to be as good as Kill Bill, or my personal favorite, Jackie Brown. But that'd be hard to tell from a trailer.

"Django. D-J-A-N-G-O. The D is silent"

THEN WHY ADD IT?!?!?!?!? If it isn't important enough to pronounce, why did you spell it that way?

Oh great. Another rip-off of actual real directors.
Like every other thing Quentin's ever done.
Oh well. At least the children will be entertained.
*yawn*
