If you haven't seen the documentary "Queen of Versailles" you probably don't understand the depth of depravity in that statement by the man whose wife is the title character. This is a man who's made his fortune bilking people out of money they cannot afford for time-shares that aren't worth spit. He's the guy whose conspicuous consumption is so over the top that they made a movie out of it, a movie in which he is revealed to be one of the stupidest businessmen on the face of the earth.

In fact, when I saw the movie that was the main takeaway. Here was a guy who'd made his fortune mostly through luck and timing --- and a flood of cheap money --- who refused to let go of a Las Vegas white elephant even though it would have saved billions of dollars and thousands of jobs. There was no reason for it other than his oversized ego, which also had him building the most hideous oversized structure this side of the Mall of America, which he dubbed "Versailles."

At the end of the movie he was sitting in a piles of papers and dogshiat, yelling at his childlike wife and confused kids about turning off the lights when they leave the room. That made me happy. He was going down, down, down and nobody deserved it more. And his kids would be better off for not having the world handed to them by this creep.

Unfortunately he, like the rest of the 1%, no matter how inept and undeserving, has recovered his fortune and is back in business. The fact that he's still whining like a spoiled toddler is testament to just how sick all that money has made these plutocratic jerks.

Now he's doing God's Work (job creatin') by copying wingnut chain emails and sending them to his employees. If these are the titans of capitalism who are supposed to save us all, I'd say it's time we start gathering our survivalist gear and hoarding canned goods. The future is not bright. Link

FrailChild: Now That's What I Call a Taco!: Define socialism. I dare you.

Here's a good breakdown for you of why Obama is a socialist, a fascist, and a communist.

http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig10/lazarowitz8.1.1.html

Breaking it down:

-- FTFWebsite: America has been a socialist - as well as fascist - nation for many decades, especially since FDR's New Deal....In actuality, Social Security is a real-time redistribution of wealth scheme administered by the State, in which income is taken from producers and redistributed to non-producers, mainly retired persons and the elderly. LBJ's Medicare program is an extension of this.
- Translation: Socialism is bad. Social Security and Medicare are socialism. Social Security and Medicare are bad. Anyone who supports Social Security and Medicare are socialists.
- Obama: supports Social Security and Medicare
- Romney: (according to money.cnm.com) Both Obama and Romney say they don't want any changes to affect near or current retirees. To quote Romney, "there are a number of options that can be pursued to keep the system solvent"... "younger generations will enter a system strengthened for the 21st century," Romney said in February.
- Verdict: If supporting Social Security and Medicare are socialism, then Romney's (vague) plan to not only keep the program but strengthen it makes Romney a socialist.

-- FTFWebsite: Further examples to show that Obama is a socialist include his vote as a U.S. Senator in favor of the Wall Street Bailout,... redistribution of wealth from the middle-class workers and producers to the already rich Wall Street bankers and financial executives.
- Obama: voted for it
- Romney: Buzzfeed, 2012: Romney Praises 2008 Bank Bailout: "Hours after he secured the endorsement of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney credited his brother, President George W. Bush, with keeping the country from a great depression in 2008. "I keep hearing the president say he's responsible for keeping the country out of a Great Depression," Romney said at a town hall in Arbutus, Maryland. "No, no, no, that was President George W. Bush and [then-Treasury Secretary] Hank Paulson."
--Romney, Originally: NewsMax, 2011: Romney Defends 2008 Wall Street Bailout: "Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is defending the 2008 bailout of Wall Street banks, saying it was essential to preserving the nation's currency and financial system from collapse. Romney said the U.S. could have had a "complete meltdown of our entire financial system." He said "action had to be taken. Was it perfect? No." Asked if he would support another bailout, Romney said that if he thought the entire financial system would collapse, "you take action to keep that from happening."
- Verdict: Take your pick, the Republican friendly NewsMax a year ago this week, or Buzzfeed 8 months ago. Both agree: Romney supports and supported the bailouts. Now, what he says in the homestretch to the election is anyone's guess. But the internet never forgets, FrailChild. And Romney, by your website's reckoning, is a Socialist.

-- FTFWebsite: Obama also clearly supports the ongoing military socialism through the wars he has been continuing and strengthening abroad: redistribution of wealth from American workers and producers to defense contractors, consultants and lobbyists, oil executives and Wall Street bankers, which really has been a main objective for American wars throughout the last century.
- Obama: personal experience here, I sub-contracted for a company which had to lay off workers because the military contracts weren't coming in like they used to. The company still exists, but the contracts aren't there. Though Lazarowitcz is right about how contractors and lobbyists have bellied up too often to the taxpayer trough, he's wrong to claim Obama is a Socialist because of continuing wars (which ones? the ones his Republican predecessors began?).
- Romney: Romney's entire 'business' experience is not based on building anything, but on taking companies which already exist and carving those pigs until nothing is left but de-marrowed soup bones. Then there's the government saving Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics because the business community didn't come through (in stark contrast to how the business community did come through for Atlanta 1996). The man who put Atlanta together gets no play, but Romney is supposed to be the do-it-yourself genius?? FrailChild: THINK.
- Romney: CNN.com opinion piece: "The two campaigns have differences in some areas, particularly regarding the future Pentagon budget, which Obama would cut by $500 billion in 10 years. Romney would spend more to expand the Navy, part of a strategy that looks at China as an upcoming rival. That China "pivot," by the way, is shared with the Obama administration."

But it's Obama who's the socialist, not Romney? Obama who's the war hawk getting us into war, not Romney?

www.blogcdn.com

-- FTFWebsite: Many people also mistakenly believe that Obama's medical takeover is "socialized medicine," but we already have socialized medicine in Medicare as mentioned, and other similar programs. ObamaCare is actually a fascist program.
- Obama: is a socialist for Obamacare
- Romney: American Thinker June, 2011: June 2, 2011
RomneyCare vs. ObamaCare: Does Page Count Matter?
: "Marathon presidential contests mean that silly seasons in politics start early. Look no further then Mitt Romney's flailing efforts to find some contrast -- any contrast -- with President Obama over government-controlled health care as proof. Glenn Kessler, who writes a feature for the Washington Post called "The Fact Checker," examines Romney's contention that his Massachusetts health care reform abomination isn't quite as abominable as President Obama's national version. The reason, page count."

Why did I choose an American Thinker Article from Last Year, instead of This Month?
To remind you: The Internet Never Forgets.

- Verdict: Don't piss on my leg and call it rain, man. Don't call Obama a socialist who must be removed from the White House............. then advocate voting in fking ROMNEY. Don't do it, man. Just don't.

I ahve to say, we've been talking about raising taxes on the wealthy for almost four years now and nothing's been done about it. Since the whole idea was to ameloriate the shortfall in revenues, I have to assume we're even deeper in the hole than ever. Will a return to the 39.5% be enough? Four years ago, it might have. Today, 45% might be more appropriate. I'm sure there will be a lot of crying and whining over that, so I'd like to make the following suggestion:

If you feel you can no longer stomach the burden of paying taxes in the United States, we will offer to buy you out. Simply verify the value of your holdings in the United States (any sudden transfers from overseas will, of course, be taxed at current rates) and the US government will reimburse you in toto, plus 25%. Then it's a simple matter of renouncing your citizenship, handing over your passport, and leaving the country. If you show up on our shores again, you will be prosecuted and send into the prison system of whichever state you happen to be caught in.

It's all about the money, right? Here's your money. Now get the fark out.

cman: Taxes are based upon net profit rather than gross revenue?

Business taxes unlike personal income taxes are based on net profit and not gross revenue aka income. Businesses pay taxes on what's left after they pay all their bills whereas an individual pays their bills with what's left after taxes. This why businesses end up with lower tax bills when they increase employee pay and/or benefits.

HowDareYouCallMeAHoser: So less money to reinvest is good for a company?

You can reinvest the money before you pay taxes on it. In the case of this company, the money spent on improving existing properties and acquiring and/or building new properties would be the same no matter what the tax rate is. Indeed increased spending on those things would lower the tax bill not just right now but in the years to come as well.

cman: WhyteRaven74: I love how he's pushing the lie that increased business taxes would hurt his ability to grow his company. Business taxes are paid on revenues after expenses. Also money spent on various things like capital improvements leads to further tax breaks.

Taxes are based upon net profit rather than gross revenue? Can you please grant me a citation for that?

Look at Schedule C. Essentially every business expense, except for federal income tax itself, is an "above-the-line" deduction and is not counted in adjusted gross income.

We've regained all of the ground our business lost in 2008 after the crash, and have health insurance due to the current administration. So, we're putting our money and votes where it appears to do us the most good, like any self-centered, self-actualized Objectivist claims to do. Like decent people, we also put our money and votes where we think it will do our community, nation, and the world at large the most good.

Also like decent, reasonable people, we would never in a million years DREAM of telling any of our contractors that if the current administration isn't voted back into office, they won't be employed. We're clear about where our personal support lies, but we certainly wouldn't use anybody's dependence on us for a paycheck as some kind of blackmail.

As we tell our five-year old, we truly believe that it is good that Americans disagree on these things because it makes people think through the issues. We've explained that both parties want what they think is best for everyone -- there are no bad guys per se*, just differences in philosophies. Liar. This guy isn't so much rich as one step ahead of his creditors. So if/when Obama wins it won't be his fault that he has to sell his company (and see a big chunk of his sales staff laid off as redundant by the company that buys them)/declare bankruptcy (and have to sell pieces of the company and layoff staff no longer needed)/ or close up shop all together- it will be the fault of the voters who elected Obama, and of course Obama.

If Romney wins this guy still probably ends up having to make one of these plays, the cards he's been dealt aren't going to change; he'll just need a new excuse.

You sick, twisted, hatemongering, delusional liberal. I pray to God you never get your bloodthirsty wishes... and you wonder why conservatives are so motivated to get this socialist president out of office.

Define socialism. I dare you.

The problem with defining socialism is that is has so many faces, everything from Stalinism to Nazism, The most common denominators, though, are:
1) State ownership (ex: Soviets) or virtually total control (ex: Nazis) of the capital economy,
2) regimentation of the population where the State/Party intrudes in most aspects of private life (both),
3) single-party control (both),
4) rigged (Soviets) or no (Nazis) elections,
5) elimination (Nazis) or State domination (Soviets) of labor unions,
6) emphasis on "external enemies" who are to blame for domestic problems (both),
7) minority scapegoating and persecution (both),
8) leader-worship (both),
9) military expansionism (both).

There are other commonalities, but I've gotta go to dinner in 2.6 minutes.

A good source to see about this is Eric Hoffer's "The True Believer"

Of course, there are democratic "socialist" nations that do not share all of these characteristics (Sweden, etc.) but I would argue that these are actually democratic mixed economy states, where the "socialist" elements have restrained themselves.

Its dischordant psychotic bullshiat. The people who tout trickle down economics are operating on the purposefully flawed assumption that they are saving the economy by redistributing the wealth they receive to their subordinates who then put it back into the economy. The problem is that the redistribution doesnt happen. It flows to the top and stays. Then whenever anyone tries to get them to redistribute they cry foul and threaten that there wont be anything left to redistribute if they're forced to redistribute it....it really is insane.

NO
The Soviets seized companys.
The Nazis mostly didn't.
In most case they did buisness with the legal owners.
If he didn't want to, the owner(s) had to "sell" to someone who had good ties to the Nazis.
I have never read of the Nazis taking direkt ownership, if you have info about this, please show it.

The sad parts:
This big buisness families (Quandt family ist the most notorious because of the film) who helped the Nazis to power, used KZ-workers and made millions of death and suffering are still there, and almost no one was punished.
BMW
Mercedes-Benz
IG Farben (later BASF) example: Zyklon-B
VARTA Batteries for U-Boot, lots of death because the workers worked unprotected

Why? Because they are fed up with the constant intrusion of the federal government.

Good for you. He's a sack of poo, regardless of your opinion.

You might see what he did as a violation of that law, but it is not. He did not block or entice anyone to vote he only informed his workers of his intentions. I agree it could be viewed as a violation, but legally it is not. Now if he did like they do down here and round up people, bus then to the polls and then give them a free lunch afterwards like the democrats do, oh wait that isn't violation also.

Oh, it's no more a violation of the law than implying that his employees have awfully nice knees, and that it would truly be a shame if something were to happen to them on the way to voting for Obama.

But its undemocratic as all hell. That the law didn't predict, in 1965, that the people would be intimidated through their employment status doesn't make it less clear that this guy is a jackoff for trying to persuade his employees to vote a certain way by threatening them with layoffs right around holiday season.

Oh yeah, he's free to be a douchenozzle. But that doesn't make his douchenozzlery "right". Or, to use your words directly, I DO see something wrong with the letter he wrote, though not necessarily illegal. I'm sure, with this body of evidence, a suit could be brought against him. Oh those GOP stereotypes.... some of those who did not make "wise life choices" spent 30 or 40 years in hard work, only to have people like Mitt and Bain Capital come in and clean out their pension funds and get rich in the disaster they left behind. BUT Obama will presumably continue all the handouts, including the Unemployment Insurance extensions, SS Disability, and Section 8 housing subsidies.

My fear and suspicion is that Romney will cut the UI extensions), under the bass ackwards idea that forcing people off of UI will somehow create jobs. My current UI extension runs out 12/23 (Merry farking Xmas!) so unless it is extended, again, I can kiss $412 a week goodbye.

Also at risk, the SS Disability my wife gets, and Section 8 funds (we finally got on the "informal waiting list for the waiting list" (her social worker likes her and has pull) for subsidized housing and may actually be able to get off the street sometime in February or March of next year.

So I'm really torn. Being old, white and overweight - and unemployed for several years, I've got 4 strikes against me for getting permanent full time work in my field. Yes, I think the economy WILL get worse under Obama. But, personally, my current economic interest lies in voting FOR Obama.

You can reinvest the money before you pay taxes on it. In the case of this company, the money spent on improving existing properties and acquiring and/or building new properties would be the same no matter what the tax rate is. Indeed increased spending on those things would lower the tax bill not just right now but in the years to come as well.

That's not really true. You can get deductions, but the average small to medium sized company can't reinvest 100% of their profit and have no tax obligation. Also, many improvements require more than a years worth the revenue. The tax rate matters.

FrailChild: ExperianScaresCthulhu: FC, please. Real conservatives don't want anything to do with RINO Romney. Never have, never will. Calling Obama out as a socialist and then putting the RINO Romney in...........that's just.... that's mindblowing. So sure, go ahead and support Romney. Do what you want.

But NEVER try to associate Romney with conservatism.

He's more conservative than Obama. At least he doesn't want to kill babies.
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/292204/obama-s-infanticide-vot e s-patrick-brennan

Blessed child, Frail Child, I'm a Pro-Lifer... who is also pro-abortion.
I believe every child is a life and a human being.
But I also believe that human beings have the right to kill that life,
the same as any rabbit re-absorbing their litters
or rats eating their young.
It's the circle of life.
I don't play games with that shiat, and I don't respect people
who try to candy coat the shiat.
Don't try to sell me on Romney not wanting to kill babies.
I know that mother fker's record on abortion.
I have ZERO respect for him, because he has no consistent view on abortion.

He is not honest.
And the worst part? The absolute worst part?
The mother fker had to go to his fking QUORUM to get permission to change his official political public view on abortion in the first place..

Let's go to an November 2011 blog piece, bringing up old history (the internet never forgets), before RINO ROMNEY was the presumptive nominee: Mitt Romney Supported State-Funded Abortions in 2002 "Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's past support for abortion rights and state-funded family planning, especially during his Senate run in 1994 against Ted Kennedy, is well known. But Romney's support has lasted longer, and goes deeper, than many may assume.

During Romney's 2002 gubernatorial campaign, he sought the endorsement of Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts by filling out a questionnaire that made his continued support clear. The document was first circulated in 2007, but is now taking on new relevance as Romney tries to clarify his opposition to abortion rights and government-funded family planning. Romney pledged his support for Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that protects women's choice, for laws protecting the safety of abortion clinics, for increased access to the morning-after pill and for late-term abortions when the mother's health is at risk. Romney also indicated on the form that he supported the "state funding of abortion services through Medicaid for low-income women."

The shiat was such easy pickin's that Newt Gingrich used it (and more) in a January 2012 attack ad against Bishop Stake President Romney.

Blessed Child, Frail Child: Don't believe anything that comes out of Willard Mitt Romney's piehole. Ever. Just a friendly warning, before you have to go through the same mental gymnastics folks are now going through who voted for Bush twice.

Except this will be worse.

Hair darkens as a person ages, usually becoming the darkest in the 20's.
Lighter hair sends a subconscious "I'm young and fertile" signal, at least amount whites..

There's a theory that the colder climates of Europe and Northern Asia promoted heavy clothing so much that the hair color could be a stronger and more powerful instant visual cue of age and fertility than the usual.

His whining doesn't make much sense. He'd rather shut the company down and retire than retire and keep ownership (and income) or sell the company off and at least end up with a chunk of change for his 42 years of hard work?

You come off as someone who didn't read the article and the other guy comes off as just a douche who is upset people who worked harder than him don't like paying most of their income in taxes.

Go back and read the article, he said he will have to lay off some of the people, not all if them.

Still he's a salesperson so I hope he rots in hell but I can't understand how so many if you scream, "yeah tax the rich 90% of their money! F*@k them!!!!"

Eventually they won't have enough people to tax then get down to low middle class, I know our household income got hit pretty hard and we have had to cut back on our spending to save for taxes at the end of the year. And we are not the Mega rich the left keeps saying they are targeting, you are being sold bullshiat people so quit acting like it tastes good. Get mad and force them to cut the budgets, spending never fixes anything since people always want more and more.
