rdondelinger: while SquiggsIN's "fresh perspective" is certainly not fresh as in new, it is most assuredly an oft-overlooked and under-appreciated viewpoint held by individual Farkers such as SquiggsIN and myself.

WHAT PERSPECTIVE?

He came in here and immediately told all of us Democrats / Republicans that we're all a bunch of feebs for voting Democrat or Republican.

Actually, he said that we should all be shot.

But yes, sure, we should really respect that "fresh perspective" of his. We'll all go out and shoot ourselves now. He's obviously very wise.

...says the guy that isn't talking about anything even closely related to the thread topic at hand.

yeah because fark threads are known for staying on topic. This is a thread about assigning blame for bad things. That turns into R's blaming D's and D's blaming R's. I'm providing a fresh perspective. I know you don't like to think outside of the box you've willingly locked yourself into so I don't expect you to see things from any perspective other than your obviously correct position.

Countering the critiques of our fellow learned Farkers ( Mrtraveler01, James F. Campbell, Lando Lincoln, and everyone else that I may have left out ), while SquiggsIN's "fresh perspective" is certainly not fresh as in new, it is most assuredly an oft-overlooked and under-appreciated viewpoint held by individual Farkers such as SquiggsIN and myself. As a community, we have much to gain by listening to views of others which do not necessarily align with our own beliefs and values. We can learn, if we make the determination to keep an open mind. An exercise in tolerance and patience is good for all.

Now, for more on a viewpoint that may make you think "Hmmmmmm... ", I present to you a clip from the honorable Judge Napolitano: Link.

Wtf is wrong with you. That was worse than being rickrolled.

smug douche? perhaps i'm guilty as charged. years of seeing the stupidity played out by D's and R's in front of the public who seems to not notice has seemingly made me think i'm one of the only people paying attention.

For the past two years, House Republicans have continued to deprioritize the security forces protecting State Department personnel around the world. In fiscal year 2011, lawmakers shaved $128 million off of the administration's request for embassy security funding. House Republicans drained off even more funds in fiscal year 2012 -- cutting back on the department's request by $331 million.

"He shouldn't make my son's death part of his political agenda. It's wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama," Barbara Doherty. mother of Glen Doherty.

"He actually approached him, using this private gathering as basically a political venture to further his image. And Glen just believed it to be very insincere and stale," Elf Ellefsen, identifed as Glen Doherty's friend.

Politicizing the death of Americans by foreign terrorists, long a weapon of Republicans, is base and shameful.

Shaggy_C: People_are_Idiots: Shaggy_C: This entire argument hinges on a simple question: Did they provide enough of a budget for the embassy to have more security than it did on the day of the attacks?

Actually the bigger question is: Why is Libya's security dropped when they could get security from another "safer" area?

Well, you see, as a Musulman himself, Mr. B. Hussein-Obama assumed the Brotherhood that he Annointed to power in Libya would respect his Minions at the embassy...

Actually I think he underestimated, or at least wasn't given the right intel. Remember bad intel happened before.... name the president ;)

So, does anyone think that if you can cut 331 million from the security budget, that it must be a rather large number. 331 million cut...so what's leftover? A billion? I notice the article doesn't mention the total amount, probably because it would be mind-blowing.

That seems like it should be able to pay for a platoon of Marines in Benghazi.

Also, 6,000 contractors in Iraq...for what? We pulled out, have no troops there and they are selling oil to Syria and buying Russian gear. So, why 6,000 contractors there?

And they can't spare some of those in Libya? I think the guy has a point.;

Again, what's the total budget?

again, why can't people discuss this without name-calling? Show a little respect to yourself and the country by being willing to have a discussion that doesn't involve throwing pejoratives instead of ideas. Those look like big cuts, hundreds of millions. But the budget is in the billions, or thousands of millions. Less than a four percent reduction in spending.

I think I'll place the blame on the person(s) that ignored warnings and requests for increased security in a country that suddenly has no friendly government. Or the film that nobody ever saw.

Neither party is infallible. Your devotion to your party would be admirable if it weren't so delusional. No need to blame Bush again. I already blamed his granddaddy earlier in the thread. Maybe you should do some research into how the Bush family has helped create the global police force division of our military. I won't apologize for the terrible misjudgments of the Democrats. I dislike R's and D's pretty much equally. I don't want R's telling our citizens how to live their lives or making judgment calls for the entire population based on a majority-held belief structure. I don't want D's telling our citizens that it's our responsibility to pay for programs which are poorly implemented and benefit bureaucrats more than their intended recipients.

I fully believe that R's and D's are 2 sides of the same coin. They have a plan and you've fallen right into the trap. It's not your fault that you allow your perspective to be controlled by those seemingly most similar to you. It's conditioning. I'm just trying to offer you something that you perhaps haven't considered. Republicans are no more righteous in their intents than are Democrats. You seem to be willing to vote against Democrats out of fear and prejudice as much as truly supporting the Republicans. You are not alone.

Sorry, this Democratic talking point is a joke. There are 190 embassies and only seven of them have a significant risk of violence. I'm counting on it. Facts are clear. Truth wills out. He went to Vegas while our Ambassador and 3 others were being murdered and our consulate was over run. They were warned. They ignored it. This is Obama's 'My Pet Goat.' Reap what you sow. Spin it 100x, won't matter. The Swing states already have moved. The only demographic left supporting this brainless boob will be blacks on the government tit in Detroit and Chicago before the election gets here. Hurry November.

Even if Obama did everything you claim, the only person who botched Benghazi worse than him was Romney. That's a fact.

What's also a fact is that 2 days ago, a couple of Romney advisers stopped high-fiving each other over the debate long enough to realize that they still losing badly in the electoral vote, opened up a newspaper, decided this looked vaguely like the Iranian Hostage Crisis, and decided to score some partisan political points by raping a couple of American corpses.

Any you slice it, this being made a campaign issue is pretty ugly, and no one comes out of this looking worse than Romney.

angryjd: Sorry, this Democratic talking point is a joke. There are 190 embassies and only seven of them have a significant risk of violence. Surely with a $300 billion a year defense price tag, we can get three marines to guard an embassy in a potential warzone? Stop pretending money has something to do with this incompetence.

300 billion?

free cell from obama: ifarkthereforiam: Hey folks, the 'big lie' strategy works. Why do you think the republicans keep doing it?

/same goes for whining about being persecuted by the liberal press.

You must think Obama is a Republican then. He lied about some video for 10 days all the while having intelligence that it was a terrorist attack, just as the Libyan government had warned of for three days prior.

Two wrongs make a right. Therefor vote republican, eh?

SquiggsIN: Lt. Cheese Weasel: Mrtraveler01: Lt. Cheese Weasel: He's never held a job. He's never created one.

I never understood this talking point.

Since when in the history of politics has business experience ever translated to success in politics?

I'm drawing a blank here.

Much like the rest of the DNC, the last four years are a blank to you. No idea, no clue, no answers. Time to go.

I'm not looking for infallibility. How's about some open honesty? For once? This idiots story/memo has changed 3 times since 9-11-12. Every single change in the story was politically driven, not a single care for the country, it's people or one farking shred of accountability and truth? And forget about the 4 that died. Just bodies now.

And now, V4.0, it's the RNC's fault? Really? You buy that? You're not paying attention or you have a nastier share of the partisan pie you claim I'm eating. Because yours has worms in it and you like the taste of maggots.

Yes, the guy running for President (and has his own Secret Service detail) is a private citizen.

Lt. Cheese Weasel: This was a complete failure in leadership, administration and sensitivity. Gee, anniversary of 9/11? means nothing. Nothing to see here, nope....they love us. You farking liberal pillow biters are inept and corrupt. November is coming, update your resumes assholes, you're about to hit the roles like so many others have done under this incompetent boobs' administration. He's never held a job. He's never created one. Now he can retire to Hawaii, having never understood how this country works, what it means to sweat for your livelihood or sacrifice for an income. on your dime. Well done.

'You didn't make that.'

This from left field post makes no sense considering you were having discussions before... oops you thought this was being posted under a different name. Don't you hate it when open tor browsers get confused?

Fennel-crusted sea bass served with a raspberry reduction over polenta and mixed greens. Union forces suffered over 12,000 casualties during the Battle of Antietam. The Musée du Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world. I like cats.

Saying random things is fun.

You're exactly the kind of DNC bozo that won't vote because it's raining Nov.6. I like you.

I hit smart and funny for that comment. Where is the 'this changes everything' button. Hard hitting, direct, on topic, relevant, insightful... Faved.

No wonder you conservative trolls always come back for more thinking you "won" the last debates. You keep making up "facts"

Or, to, paraphrase, "Everybody in the world is stupid by me."

Seriously, neither party is infallible, but if you actually believe that there's no difference between republicans and democrats, all that means is that you are not paying attention.
