Nobody cares. The Republicans could vote to fund live kitten eating, and the only ones who will take flak for it are the Democrats. The Republicans can say or do anything -- anything -- and it won't affect them.

Being in Congress must be really awesome.

As Jon Stewart once said, "you get the fun of breaking shiat and the joy of complaining the shiat you just broke doesn't work."

2012-10-10 06:59:05 PM
These people just amaze me in how shameless they are. They don't seem to care if they lie even if it is known widely (except the hard core ideologues who either know it and don't care or are too deep into the ideology to acknowledge reality or the low info voters [to whom the lies and hypocrisy are really aimed as they won't pay attention long enough to learn that the statements are lies]). They don't seem to care if their hypocrisy is outrageous.

"Yeah, I know I'm a lying hypocrite. Whadda ya gonna do about it?" Democrats and media: *crickets chirping*

thismomentinblackhistory: Why is this?

Because the media has been successfully cowed by bullshiat cries of bias and the Democrats are afraid to play hardball. Hardball to them being pointing out that the opposing party is rampant with hateful lying dickweasels.

Because people will say to the Democrats, "Why didn't you stop them?!" And the Democrats will get the blame.

And because every major media entity is either owned by the GOP or too scared to do anything but repeat their lies for fear of losing market share. Why they think you lose viewers by telling the truth, I have no idea.

The asshole family value pro life adulterer doctor/congressman that made his patient/mistress get an abortion is biatching about this on his Facebook page. Several people are saying he voted to defund security, but I can't find a link to verify it.

And then the Palin / Bachmann tag team come running down the aisle with their theme music playing, only to be defeated by a door failing to open inwards with a sign in plain english reading "PUSH".

Yeah, because we know Obama never spends money that he doesn't have.

2012-10-10 08:06:56 PM
And then things get real serious when Biden starts climbing a ladder with a medal foldup chair in one hand.

But this is Obama's 9/11!

9/11!!!

Hey, the GOP wouldn't HAVE to cut the security budget for those hoity-toity diplomats if Obama weren't in office.

Get a brain morans!

Answer: we had 9x the people at the Toledo fark party than he had at his birthday party :)

So no one cares that specific security requests, which Republicans have no say in, were turned down for Libya? No one upset that the whole start of the attack was lied about by this administration?

Is it really the Republicans fault that the ambassador's security detail in Libya was smaller than security details that some members of the state department have stateside?

There are too few on the Democrat side that are willing to call the Republicans on their f*ckery. We had Rep. Weiner, and he got DQ'ed for showing his junk to his mistress.

Well at least we're all still comfortable making political hay out of American deaths when it's convenient to our interests.

I bet you think you're reality based and a moderate.

I like the advocacy of pogroms. Nice touch.

It's false equivalency.

Just because I want my wife to spend less money doesn't mean I can't complain when she doesn't buy groceries.

The vote was to reduce funding for the year 2013. Last time I checked, we're not there yet. So....Jesus, libs are terrible.

/same goes for whining about being persecuted by the liberal press.

Never ascribe to malice that which incompetency will explain.

2012-10-10 08:15:28 PM
Did the Republicans vote to cut State Department funding?
Yup.
Did that *in any way* affect the outcome of the Benghazi consulate's request for additional security?
Nope.

/This thread is shameful

2012-10-10 08:15:30 PM
This would be relevant if the reason for the lack of security was a staff or resource shortage due to funding. But it had nothing to do with that. Rather--it was because the gatekeeper for such appeals (Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs Charlene Lamb, and backed by her superiors assistant secretary of State for diplomatic security Eric Boswell and the principal deputy assistant secretary for diplomatic security and director of the Diplomatic Security Service Scott P. Bultrowic) wanted to keep the U.S. security presence "artificially low," to promote the idea that Libya was stabilizing and safer.

Pretty lame attempt to try and dump this mess in the GOP's lap...

That's pretty much it. Romney enacted an assault weapons ban in Massachusettes. Obama allowed more concealed carry access. Guess who the NRA is endorsing.

2012-10-10 08:17:42 PM
So the Obama administration and State Department (same thing) totally botch this whole thing...and it's the republican's fault? Sounds legit.

2012-10-10 08:17:52 PM
We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad.

So, still managed to blame Obama. I'm sure Chaffetz and Issa voted against President Obama's plan to invade Iraq in 2003.

fark you, GOP assholes.

2012-10-10 08:19:30 PM
This entire argument hinges on a simple question: Did they provide enough of a budget for the embassy to have more security than it did on the day of the attacks?

2012-10-10 08:21:14 PM
I just got my ballot in the mail. Rosanne Barr is on there.

Seems as good as any on the list this time.

Here's the biggest secret of the whole election political fracas:

The republickans have been manipulating the whole thang since for-EVER b/c dough.

Quit eating the pies, i.e. lies, e.g. lies.

Money has NEVER been your friend.

Wasn't then; wasn't now.

Never will be.

People, however, will scramble until there is no air left to breathe, so climb upon the mountains, and ride...

Peter von Nostrand: At least he's honest

If this blows up, I expect they'll be putting (D) next to his name on FOX News.

At least he's honest, instead of trying to blame Obama like everyone else is doing.

Oh, wait, he tried to assign some blame to Obama.

Nevermind.

2012-10-10 08:22:08 PM
We're ignoring that the request was to bring the security detail to about five, and there were five security personnel present at the time of the attack, right?
