If anyone ever tries to give me a White Chocolate Peppermint Pringle, that moment will be the moment our friendship ended.

Not me.

Pumpkin pie spice (spiced pumpkin anything) makes me feel like I'm going to hurl.

Because when I was 12 or so, I had too much pumpkin bread, and DID. Ever after...

/burn it all
//no regrets

2012-10-10 09:48:12 PM
I'd give the pumpkin pie spice ones a shot.

Mmmmm, it IS getting to be time for the Starbucks holiday menu to return, isn't it?

/for some odd reason a peppermint mocha just tastes all kinds of better during the holidays

To be despised:

I dispute not.

Who wins?

Not I.

To live?

We do.

You do, hoodoo.

True do too.

I do, you?

Did you feel that in your spine?

That tingle, that sparkle, that twinkle?

I cannot possibly express how much I want the job of the person who comes up with these flavors.

In the 70's Hostess tried orange, cherry and grape flavoured chips in Canada.
They tasted worse than a Shamrock Shake and only lasted a few months.

It might be good ol nostalgia, but I remember Pringles tasting really good back in the early to mid 80's. I also remember Doritos tasting better then too.

Like oh so many things, you Canadians probably borrowed that one from us Brits. We've had ketchup-flavored crisps forever.

Blasphemy. The Shamrock Shake is heavenly, and the only reason I step into a McDonald's exactly once every year.

If it was so great they'd offer it year-round. Mmmm, Thick peppermint flavoured dairy. It's like something you take for diarrhea.

they should do a straight up sea salt one; I would start buying Pringles again

I will never forget my little brother projectile vomiting the grape chips onto the lap of a hitchhiker my Dad had decided to pick up. "I'll get out here" he said, and went off on his merry way. I sometimes wonder what his next ride must have been like, if indeed he got one at all, being covered in puke and all.

No, you have tah-mah-toe sauce flavoured crisps. And Chicken Tikka Masala and Prawn Cocktail and all sorts of flavours that taste just fine after 11 pints.

Ketchup chips have been around in Canada since the late 60s.

Do you mind sending me some Tikka Masala Pot Noodles? Those are awesome.

devilskware: It might be good ol nostalgia, but I remember Pringles tasting really good back in the early to mid 80's. I also remember Doritos tasting better then too.

I agree. Nowadays, though, Pringles have no flavor; it's just the salt on the surface you're tasting. The substrate has little to contribute to the experience. Kind of like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

With that in mind, I can see these flavors having some potential. It's not like the chip flavor's gonna get in the way.

ArcadianRefugee: Roe and mayonnaise Doritos.

Hmmm...Cod Roe Doritos. Those I would eat. No mayo needed.

They should just call them "Yankee Candle" flavors.

Actually, I was thinking new pop star names in a girl group.

jprogram: Who laughed when they introduced the ketchup flavor?

Not me. The Brits have been making those for years, along with things like Worcestershire sauce, curry and lots of other flavors we might consider "odd". Good stuff all around.

Supes: I cannot possibly express how much I want the job of the person who comes up with these flavors.

I think Frito-Lay has a current contest to do just that. Check it out.

Re: Starbucks:

I don't normally enjoy them so much, but the current "salted caramel" thing just drives me crazy. I love it.

Want a real kick, go to the Pringles site and check the flavors offered in different countries. (Might need translating, unless your browser does that for you).
