RatMaster999: Why didn't the little bastard fly himself back to the ship? That bothered me even as a kid.
Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: ET was a plant?? Not an animal? Wtf
Gordon Bennett: The one good thing to come out of ET was the best episode of Get A Life.
EmmaLou: ET gave me nightmares as a kid and gave me a phobia about aliens that I still deal with. Knowing that it, ET, was a plant makes feel much better about it. Although I'm sure now I'll develop a fear of trees or tall grass.
Fano: RatMaster999: Why didn't the little bastard fly himself back to the ship? That bothered me even as a kid.He DID have to call the ship. Why do you assume he could fly? Because he helped a guy on a bike defy gravity?
Gilligann: Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: ET was a plant?? Not an animal? WtfYeah wtf is that about? Some things I would be happier not knowing.

bungle_jr: i love e.t. so much (i was 6 when it came out and saw it twice at the movies) that 10 years ago during the 20 year anniversary, i purchased a talking e.t. doll at toys r us in kaiserslautern, germany.the thing is 2 or 2.5 feet tall, and his chest and finger light up. he says 4 phrases IN GERMAN, and does the "oooooh" sound, and a burp. my almost-3-year-old son LOVES that thing.funny thing is it's 10 years old and still going on the original batteries
ZeroCorpse: What is with all the people who are AFRAID of E.T.?!?! I saw it when I was a kid (1982, right? that would make me 11 at the time. I loved it. I read the book a bunch of times. I watched the movie about a dozen times. I enjoyed the hell out of it.So who are these people who thought E.T. was scary, and continue to think that even as adults? WHAT are they taking away from this movie, or his appearance, that says "monster!" instead of "lovable alien"?I can understand being deathly afraid of the Atari 2600 game, because that was evil, but the movie was charming, fun, and had a great insight to a kid's perspective.
