Everyone with an IQ over 70 pointing and laughing at the retards doing the "investigation."

Yeah, good luck with that.

I'll put that on the to-do list right after auditing the fed

Is that before or after we repeal the 10th Amendment?

You know... FOR THE JOBS!

Funny how the House sat on its hands all summer and now they decide to go all investigaty. I wonder why now all of a sudden? Must just be a coincidence.

I thought Congress got elected to bring back jobs.

Maybe they can look into that whole 'birth certificate' matter while they are at it.

I guess they chose to do this instead of impeaching the President.

unemployment 8.1%: OBAMA IS A TERRIBLE PRESIDENT BECAUSE THE NONPARTISAN BLS SAYS SO
unemployment 7.8%: THE BLS IS COOKING THE BOOKS FOR OBAMA

this is what republicans actually believe

How do we know the revisions to these numbers are coming after the election? - Link

And when they are revised, the BLS will sound just like the Obama Admin does today on Libya. "We didn't lie. We were reporting on the information that we had." Except that's not really true in the case of Libya or in the case of the BLS, as numbers from the past indicate that a serious adjustment will need to be made.

2012-10-10 03:41:09 PM
I mean, if they want to create the narrative that they are actively pursuing an actual witch hunt vs Obama in the run-up to the election, by all means let that cloud the news cycle for a few weeks...

Fark all Republicans. They sat silent while their last president shat all over America. Now they want investigations. Bunch of farking whiny crybaby pussies, every one of them.

It is the official unemployment number. It is not the health of the economy and it does not reflect the individual situation of any particular voter. It is generally an indication of how hard it is to get work if you want work. That's it. It also happens to be the economic indicator the GOP latched on to, to show that Obama sucks.

Clearly it is improving and is on a relatively good trajectory. Drop 2.2% since Obama passed his first budget in October 2009.

As a GOP supporter you pretty much only have 3 sane choices and a 4th insane choice in how you react to it.

1) Even though we have latched on to the U3 before when it was about 8%, we no longer think it is the best indicator of unemployment today (suggest new alternative like U6 that isn't dropping as fast)

2) Things didn't improve as fast as they should have or the U3 would be at 5.4% today if McCain/Palin would have won

3) Obama has little/nothing to do with the improvements in unemployment, this is just the market correcting itself

4) CONSPIRACY!!! Soros and Fartbongo have infiltrated the BLS to cook the books and steal the election

2012-10-10 03:47:37 PM
I am not alleging the incompetence or ignorance of Peter Ferrara, who I see is a former GOP functionary, but given the pure idiocy of his columns, I just think it is time to ask him some pointed questions, in a proctored exam setting, about basic economics.

I know the Ds won't likely retake the House, but in my dreams, right after Boehner is forced to hand Nancy a clown sized two handed gavel Issa is brought before the Oversight Committee to look into his political use of his position as chairman.

It's the same with polls and CBO estimates.

People are worried about the riots if Romney narrowly wins. I'm worried about the suburban riots if Obama wins period.

So you are suggesting - and please feel free to correct me if I am wrong -- that the Obama administration somehow infiltrated the BLS and fixed these statistics? Is that what you are claiming?

If so, please elaborate. I can't wait to hear how this was accomplished.

I have here in my hand a list of 205-a list of names that were made known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Democratic Party and who nevertheless are still working and compiling reports at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Our investigation has resulted in a moral uprising and will end only when the whole sorry mess of twisted, warped thinkers are swept from the national scene so that we may have a new birth of honesty and decency in government.

I am immediately going to write my Congresspeople to get after this. Seriously, there is no way this could back fire. It's a sure fire winner for Obama

The drop was unusual. But the news came on a Friday and no ons paid attention bc they were still marveling at the debatacle. Don't bring it up. Simple politics. Too bad they always choose bad strategy

FTA: But not to worry. The BLS also reported on Friday that the number of full time jobs actually declined last month by 216,000. Thank you, President Obama. You are doing a great job. Socialism is finally working. Forward. Why would we ever consider turning back now?

Seriously, you need to stop engaging in politics now.

Don't bother. He strolled in, squatted down, let out the steaming, semi-solid remnants of his lunch all over the thread, and long since strolled out again.

He wasn't taking questions.
