FTFA: "Mitt Romney approached him ultimately four times, using this private gathering as a political venture to further his image," Ellefsen told KIRO. "He kept introducing himself as Mitt Romney, a political figure. The same introduction, the same opening line ... [Doherty] said it was pathetic and comical to have the same person come up to you within only a half hour, have this person reintroduce himself to you, having absolutely no idea whatsoever that he just did this 20 minutes ago, and did not even recognize Glen's face."

To be fair, they all look alike...

Apparently you are right. FTFA:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will no longer bring up Glen Doherty, a former Navy SEAL killed in the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, the campaign said Wednesday in response to a complaint from Doherty's mother.

"Governor Romney was inspired by the memory of meeting Glen Doherty and shared his story and that memory. We respect the wishes of Mrs. Doherty though," campaign aide Kevin Madden told BuzzFeed.

. . .

Romney had again made mention of his meeting with Doherty in the wake of these reports on Wednesday during a town hall event in Ohio.

That's right: the campaign releases a statement that Romney has stopped using the SEAL's name in his campaign speeches, while Romney continues using the guy's name in campaign speeches.

All part of the pattern. These people are completely without a hint of shame.

Yeah. He's a lying piece of shiat that other lying pieces of shiat will vote for. You have to be kind of amazed that the trash that supports Romney actually have the balls to show their faces in public.

Romney doesn't farking care. The SEAL's only usefulness to him - alive OR dead - is as a political prop.

Your only significance in Romney's world is in how useful you are to his ambitions.

WTF? This Romney guy was a VN War draft dodger and now he's boosting his election with this? I don't get Republicans at all. I'm going with the most acceptable explanation of their behavior: "Child, don't you see, Obama must be defeated, he's a negro."

I guess in the context of a campaign speech, this is pretty shiatty, but i am not going to pretend every side doesn't do it.

What I will say is that since Romney will send people to war like it's just another Tuesday, he's a piece of shiat who should just roll over on foreign policy and keep the fight where it belongs: lying to low-information cousin bangers about the economy.

Don't be ridiculous. Stuff like this never hurts Mitt Romney. And yes, his campaign will keep saying "oh we won't invoke him anymore" and Romney will keep invoking him. And that won't hurt him either.

True. This isn't going to dissuade anyone on WHAT their vote is, it'll just embolden a handful of people to actually make sure they get their ass to Mars the voting booth.

These three posts aptly sum up everything a voter needs to know about Romneys' character. The rest of the thread would be excellent reading for those among us who sometimes, ahem, take a little longer to get there.

When the wheat and corn production are ravaged by drought, he'll come up with a Final Solution for food production. Hint: The 47% and a Chuckles Heston film.
