ehahn: Never had an issue with Verizon, but I don't like this - so I went to the Verizon site mentioned in the article, signed in, and even though I don't have an iPhone or just bought a smart phone in the last 30 days, I was still able to opt out of sharing my info from my Blackberry! Thanks!!!

They might be able to tell that iPhone users are most active between the hours of 12 and 2, and generally use 80% of their monthly bandwidth, with 50% of that going to YouTube!
