Where IS that??

It's in Swindon, UK. Known locally as the magic roundabout. Never actually gone through it but it looks like fun!

And now we know why Thursday Next settled there; it's obviously a time portal.

This Looks Fun: Having been the reason for a wreck in a DC traffic circle, I am clearly part of the problem.

In my defense, this is the "circle" in question.

I hit that one for the first time a couple weeks ago. I didn't get why there was a circle there, which made it difficult.

I have a theory that in DC while building roads they walked a quarter mile, rolled two dice, averaged them, and then put that many lanes there. If they rolled doubles, they put a traffic circle there.

I'm assuming subby has either never driven in DC or is a lost DCist commenter (thus oblivious to Washingtonians being the worst drivers in America).

You ARE part of the problem if you can't handle it.

I'm pretty sure there's a rule or a corollary to a rule somewhere that says you can't start and win an argument whose basis is agreeing with the thing you argue against, but just in case there isn't, congratulations on a hard-fought win.

What the fark is the eye of sauron doing in the middle of DC? Seriously, the whole point of a traffic circle is to avoid having traffic cross. Why build a traffic circle if you're just going to fark it up and make twice as many intersections?

Dupont Circle is the #1 reason I hate driving in D.C.

But this guy is either an idiot or impaired.

Subby, nobody knows how to handle DC traffic circles. Or any traffic circle, for that matter. They exist solely as a source of amusement for traffic engineers, and if you want proof of that just take a drive down Route 15 from Warrenton to Leesburg.
