Goofus receives a 750-page document justifying the invasion of a random Middle Eastern country he has never heard of, or visited. Goofus tosses the bill in the garbage, holds a press conference, and declares that, "after careful consideration, voting YES is the only option for the continued success of American democracy."

Gallant receives a 750-page document justifying the invasion of a random Middle Eastern country he is vaguely aware of, but has never visited. Gallant hands the political tome to an unpaid intern and says, "Just give me the gist, kid." The next morning, Gallant declares that, "after careful consideration, voting YES is the only option for the continued success of American democracy."

Any male kid with an ounce of imagination can figure out how to make many destructive devices without a magazine's help. Molotov cocktails, tennis ball bombs...the list is endless.

the Manson family...

You can do that?!

So, uh, what other fun recipes do we have for Saturday boredom in the Middle East?

Swimming pool chlorine wafers dropped in the the bottom of a baked bean can and covered with a bottle of DOT-3 brake fluid gives you a 30 foot column of fire...

Or so I've heard :)

There's also the classic "equal parts 400 mesh aluminum and Ferrous Oxide". Add magnesium ribbon to taste.

/burned a hole in a broken cast iron skillet with that recipe once.

cgraves67: I'm a little bit circumspect about this. I mean, we teach our kids to shoot guns. Maybe they have a constitutional right to homemade explosives for the same reason that we have one for gun. Maybe Molotov Cocktails are their version of our .22 rimfire; an easy gateway for beginners.

Here, such magazines teach kids about things like elevators, knots and grocery stores, things the kids will see and use on a regular basis. I guess if those kids see Molotov cocktails over there so often, the younger ones might wonder what's up with them.

What? Who didn't make Molotovs as a child? I have fond memories of Seamus, Liam and I of a spring morning taking our Cidona bottles and...but enough of these childhood memories...

We had to learn the joys of Moltovs, pipe bombs and napalm all on our own and without the internet to find stuff out back when I was a kid.

I saw a movie where some guy made it with gas and dish washing soap. Don't know if that would work or not.
