//I don't know if true passion exists for more than 6 months
Your list looks do-able, just have a new relationship every 6 months

AverageAmericanGuy: arghyematey: I'd like to travel to Japan- I want to know what their sushi bars are like!

Come right now. The weather is great.

I'd love to... but my vacation days this year are being used for a trip to the British Virgin Islands... I leave in a week!

HotWingAgenda: The sound of one hand clapping: My wish is pretty simple (I hope so at least, I'd like to believe I can achieve it one day).

I just want to be in a relationship with a girl who cares about me enough to put me first once in a while and make me feel special. I've never had that. Never had a girl make me feel loved.

If this happens to me I could then die happy. There are many other things I'd like to do or have, but really that's all else I need in life.

I had that. Once. Wish I never had now, because it's too painful losing it after finally finding it. The stories they tell little kids about love never include the possibility of finding your soulmate, being together, and then having them just suddenly turn their back.

/I lied, the most painful part is that we're still Facebook "friends" and I'm afraid to unfriend her

Yeah, I suppose that is the biggest danger of finding a good relationship. I guess the greatest pain can come from both not being loved and from being loved.

I just want to feel worthy of love at least once though. To finally know that at least one person in the whole world truly does care about me. Something inside me tells me that if I can feel that just once I will be able to throw away my insecurities a little and actually believe that when I start a relationship the other person is there because they want to be with me.

Take the Orient Express trip, or a reasonably similar one.
Visit Capri.
Spend several hours with a glass blower, and blow a beautiful little object/jar/pot.
Go go-carting.

Gosh, how could one ever decide with choices like that? Tokyo or the Virgin Islands? Hmm...

52 miles of THIS  on a Speed Triple.

I got the time and the money. Unfortunately, the Chinese don't really let tourists just go riding around their country. I've checked with the consulate and they were firm. NO. Pity that.

The ultimate hill bomb
The buses leave every 15 minutes so there is plenty of opportunity for passing. All nice and spaced out so that you can set em up and take 'em deep.

Currently working on a plan for doing S.E.A. on a bike. I figure it will take 2-3 months to do it up proper.

To have an all-fired, not even death can stop me, get out of my way or you're farked passion about a goal and have it not go away until the goal is complete.

Just started med school and thought I had that. Month later and it's already diminished. Still love it but my hair isn't on fire for it any more.

"Have you ever ridden horses through a rainstorm?" yes. "Or led a lion through a busy street bazaar?" no.

My goal has been to play a particular Cat Stevens song on guitar. A year ago, at 52, I started taking lessons in classical guitar to eventually get there. I've had to overcome several obstacles, but I am now learning the song I was aiming at. Will be a long while yet before I can play it well but I'll get there!

I want to perform. I feel as though I could be a good actor (hell, due to anxiety and depression, I have a LOT of experience), and I'm a pretty good singer.

Unfortunately, between responsible adulthood and a lack of connections, this is unlikely to change any time soon.

xlbrooklyn: Scuba. And before y'all gimme the smack-down as having nominated an activity that is downright common, or for being trite in doing so, let me say that I CANNOT scuba due to lung disease. I even started taking lessons once. But the reality is that until I get a new pair of lungs, I can't go scuba diving. (And maybe not even then?)

This is not a pity-me thing. This is a shame-on-you thing if you're one of the people who've already said "scuba" and then made some lame excuse like, oh, work.

I feel for you and can relate on a less serious but still debilitating level. I am nearly legally blind so diving would require investment in an extremely expensive and not terribly effective prescription mask. Something I don't want to invest in without knowing if I even will like diving.

-train my dog to not be such a jerk
-have a job that I actually enjoy
- be in a relationship that has real passion

/total girly answers
//I don't know if true passion exists for more than 6 months

Oh WOW, I've done all of these! Ok, well, not a full three day.

Horse and I did combined training in a small show, with dressage and stadium jumping but no xcountry. We took second. Took first in just xcountry at another small show on a separate occasion. Dog has more education than I do (see my profile) and I can take her anywhere knowing she'll behave. Job is fun, essentially constant puzzles to solve when the bean counters leave me alone. Had a wonderful marriage for almost 10 years until he suddenly passed away, and we were together six years before that.

Here's an example of Awesome Dog. Friends never have enough chairs, so I sat on the floor and Beaglish Girl was my table for xmas dinnner. She was very calm about it, no begging and no problem!

Man, the attitudes on here are pathetic.

You guys need to get some friggin confidence or something. Being that this list required that your desires "be realistic," just about anything on here can be done. It comes down to how much you actually want it.

When I'm asked... "If you could go anywhere in the world.. where would it be?" I answer: Could go? I CAN go anywhere in the world.

Write your post down on paper, and gtfo and do it. Don't make any excuses... you get one shot at this life thing, don't waste your dreams. If you're realistic, then none of this is hard.

Want to fly a Cessna? Go to just about General Aviation airport (there are THOUSANDS of them) and pay the $100 or so for a "Discovery" or "Introductory" flight. If you like it, then keep at it.

Want to get SCUBA certified? Go do it... it's a few hundred bucks to get certified.

Want to Travel?? Get out of the basement and take a journey.

/I fear that lack of ambition and desire to accomplish our dreams will be the downfall of this world.

Wait for a weather window, and go do it.

Do you have a motorcycle? Go visit a dealership and have them crate and ship your bike to a dealership in Alaska (wherever your starting point is).

Pack some gear, and fly out there to start your journey.

You can be back in Philly two weeks later, and have all sorts of cool stories to tell.

You're dying already, we all are.. stop waiting for it.

Once i had the idea that I'd like to learn a bunch of 'movie skills'...you know, like in an action movie the mild mannered computer guy gets his kid/wife/dog kidnapped and all of a sudden knows how to ride a motorbike, fly a plane, use different types of guns (actually, I can use a .22 rifle and a shotgun, which is pretty good in Aus), skydive, fight, all that stuff...

I'd like to have basic skills in all that, do at least a weekend course in each so that I could at least like start a motorbike...

/I'm also surprised how many of people's wishes I've done, especially the travel ones...
//Won't be travelling OS for a while, until the boy is at least 10

Reading this thread has made me realize I'm a very simple man with very simple ambitions.

The only things I wish I would have done involve girls I used to know in high school and college. And since I'm married - we'll....that's pretty much a lost cause. Plus, most of those girls aged rather poorly.

Thre are obvious ones... for everyone I guess.

Some specific less sensational ones would be to:

Drive around Ireland / Scotland for a week or two... In a convertible.

Rent a sailboat in the Carribean.

Also... own / fly an ultralight. Given the CHOICE between pilot lessons and flying sessnas, etc.. I'd probably still choose the ultralight.
