What will fans see when they exit the subway?

I remember when that area of SW DC by the Navy Yard was not the nicest part of town. Whatever fans are going to see there is a helluva lot nicer than before, believe me.

Who the hell made the call to move Game 3 from TBS to MLB network? That gets my goat....Playoff games should not be on cable networks, much less premium tiers.

It's changed a ton. Lots of office buildings, condos, and apartments. Still a bit short on restaurants and shops, but those are coming. The recession did a number on the expected development, but it has only been delayed not completely halted. This website has lots of cool before and after pictures: www.jdland.com.

The development of sports stadiums is a proven technique for redeveloping downtown areas, and works surprisingly well.

The regular networks didn't want to preempt their current crop of British reality show rip-offs.

We need a "metro" tag. It would have so many applications.

I think the idea was that everyone has TBS.

I used to have an HD antenna. Then time Warner called:

Twc: Our lowest tier offers to the basic NYC channels: abc, NBC, CBS, PBS, some Korean channels, and tbs.
Me: so you want me to pay $22 a month for tbs?
Twc: ...... Um. Yeah I guess.

As an avid baseball hater and a DC native I have one question. Why does the team with the best record in the MLB not have homefield advantage? Never watched post season baseball but doesn't the team with the best record play at home first?

I'm not happy with the fax I have to be in the area for a meeting tomorrow. I hope the game is long over by 4:30. I'm not looking forward to the traffic.

They do have homefield advantage but MLB added the one-game playoff this year after they'd already put out the regular season schedule. Since they didn't want the season to go too far into November, they made the 5-game ALDS series a 2-3 format (where the team without homefield hosts games 1-2, and the team with homefield advantage hosts games 3-5). This saves 1 travel day by forcing the teams to only change cities once. Unfortunately it also means that teams with homefield advantage have to start the series on the road.

Next year they'll go to a proper 2-2-1 format.

At least you don't have to work there. I know people who pay a lot for a monthly parking space. They have to clear out by 11AM so the lots can make more money.

Yeah. I have friends who work in the area too. Sucks to be them.

What will fans see when they exit the subway at the stadium?

Panhandlers, alcoholics vomiting in the station, prostitutes, maybe an assault or two, numerous ads to re-elect Dear Leader, more panhandlers, maybe a cop once in a while, trash, homeless people making the place smell real nice....

And we all are, talking about this advertisement that we just voluntarily looked at.

Well played, cardinal mascotted company.

/Just gonna grab a bite to eat and maybe a beer after work and *hopefully* let the traffic clear out.
//At least my wife gets to park for free at the Navy Yard, so I don't have to worry about the profiteering parking lot managers

I do not see what I did myself apparently...can you elaborate? Normally I am all over a good pun or the occasional malapropism. Worth sounds like Werth maybe? W = "win" but is also the nats logo?

Hehe, after I posted I saw the headline again and remembered that this thread was about the Card's logo to start with, not the traffic issues which is all I have heard about for 24 hours. So I figured that might have been it. If I would have thought about it, I would have made it more noticeable, and tried to make a nice groan-worthy pun of some sort.
