That doesn't matter.

Romney doesn't rely on facts or even previous things he himself has said.

His campaign manager has told him "just get it all out there, true or not. Say whatever the hell you want."

If he would govern that way, I wouldn't be so worried. But he will fire up the military industrial complex like crazy and make money even he hadn't been able to attain before.

Even the ultra-liberal Tax Policy Center has to admit that 0bama's policies are bad for America's farmers.

I dunno.

In my area, the only ones with Romney/Ryan signs also have signs up for the Creationist teabagger that advocates disposing of nuclear waste at the bottom of the ocean and in people's home foundations and wants to remove the regulation from Wall St. since he says over-regulation caused the crash.

The few sane conservatives I know hate Romney. One of them said he almost broke his TV during the debate. The one insane one I know is writing in Ron Paul. Another slightly nuts but can be led to reason is voting for the Libertarian candidate.

It's Oregon, and I'm in the city, so the conservatives I am familiar with are not the same as the rural ones. And the state is going to Obama anyways.

The Tax Policy Center report held up by Obama and leftists was so much bullshiat, even the Tax Policy Center called itself out.

"Many of the center's assumptions were either tendentious or incorrect, as we argued in an earlier editorial, and as has been amply demonstrated by budget scholars at the American Enterprise Institute and elsewhere. The center later cut its $86 billion estimate by more than half. "

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/329133/obama-s-middle-class-ta x -hike-editors

TPC originally claimed that the Romney plan would raise taxes on the middle class by $86 billion. After a critique by AEI colleague Matt Jensen, who pointed out additional opportunities for base-broadening, TPC downgraded its estimate considerably. Specifically, Jensen pointed out that the exclusion of interest on state and local bonds and the exclusion of inside buildup on life-insurance products could yield more revenue. TPC then acknowledged that repeal of these provisions would raise approximately $45 billion from high-income taxpayers, reducing any need to tax the middle class by the same amount. The result: A purported $86 billion tax increase on the middle class shrinks to $41 billion.

http://www.american.com/archive/2012/october/the-romney-tax-plan-not- a -tax-hike-on-the-middle-class

Let's be honest. When even the group who put out the initial report admits it farked up, maybe you shouldn't be trotting out the initial report as "facts" and claiming the other side is lying.

While TPC refuses to back track on more of the errors, Obama stating 5 Trillion is a blatant lie even as he uses the TPC report because TPC itself backed away from these numbers. TPC has refused to re-adust it's figures with the new 17k-25k cap that Romney has suggested. So who is lying, the one using a discredited report (one that even TPC backed off) or the one saying what hard lines his proposal will follow, even if the details have to be worked out?

Multiple analysts have shown ways in which Romney can make his plan neutral. The fact is he doesn't have a specific plan because CONGRESS SETS THE farkING TAXATION POLICY. I love how liberals only remember this fact when trying to divert Obama's spending to the House (ignoring of course that no budget has been passed due to the Senate).

So how about you grow up, leave your cognitive bubble, and realize that you are simply repeating propaganda when you repeat the "Romney lies!! 5 trillion!!! Only this one singular report is valid, all others are not!!!" It makes you look silly.

If the only issue you care about is "will they legalize pot?" the two are pretty similar. Some people are "single issue" voters, whether it's the abortion nuts, the pot smokers, the "OMG Taxes!" morans, or the people who want to blow up the middle east because it's full of brown people who call their god by a weird name, some people only care about one thing. If the only thing you care about is smoking pot, there's not much difference between Johnson and Stein.

(If you actually care about making the world a better place, there is a huge difference, but if your vote hinges on "who will let me get baked, watch TV and eat Doritos?" then Stein and Johnson are pretty much equal.)

FloydA: The Great EZE: Ayn Rand's Social Worker: Picking Vilsack as Ag Secretary instead of Michal Pollan might be my least favorite thing Obama did in the past 4 years. Its either that or NDAA. Both pretty short sighted and revealing of a deeper lack of commitment to his stated values.

/might just vote Stein or Johnson because of it
//but only because I'm in California
///Mitt is so, so much worse...

Just wondering: how does one sit on the fence between Jill Stein and Gary Johnson? I don't know a LOT about them but aren't they kinda...different?

Totally disagree. There are quite a few things I disagree with for ALL candidates (at least 28%, apparently). But there are more similarities between modern greens and libertarians than most knee jerk republicrats realize. On foreign policy, they're almost identical. On the farm bill, they're very similar. The main place they disagree is tax policy and environmental regulation, but you'll see that Johnson is actually not a true died in the wool libertarian, but actually an Obama style pragmatic center right Republican with a few kooky tax ideas that'll never get through congress...

As for legalizing pot, there is no valid argument against it. I'm actually extremely invested in its industrial use as the quickest turnaround, lowest energy cost feedstock for the resins, fiber, and protein it produces. I am currently developing a 3d printing fabrication lab that could be close-looped in the cradle to cradle sense were industrial hemp legal as the founding fathers intended...
