Why would you ever hire a guy nicknamed "chainsaw" in the first place.

Jobs numbers bad for Obama = Gospel

Jobs numbers good for Obama = Conspiracy

Reuters should have specified that they wanted opinion based in fact.

Good polls for Obama = conspiracy

Good polls for Romney = gospel

...I think I'm beginning to detect a pattern, here

I have seen articles from right wing derp sites like pj Media and Townhall on Reuters. Being linked to by Reuters means nothing.

So he can dish it but can't take it? I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Then why did they hire a Republican?

I think Reuters is now figuring out the full extent of that.

/Or not. I am not super confident that people learn from anything.

I can't explain that.

I know well about "Neutron Jack" and unemployment.

Growing up under the shadow of constant GE layoffs gave me a ... cynical outlook on American economic life. I've only just recently started to realize that inexorable economic decline and decay isn't the future.

So actual journalists can't create baseless accusations of corruption without proof?! What about the freedom to tell untrue truths in the media? This is an outrage!

If Fartbama was going to fake the jobs numbers, why wouldn't he make them just a little better?

Unless ... he's a lot smarter than they give him credit for, and he's just faking them by small amounts.

That Jack Welch?

I follow Jack Welch on Twitter. He's a crazy right-wing partisan blowhard with barely any more credit than Donald Trump.

In the next couple debates, I wouldn't be surprised if Welch's name is thrown around as an example of what's wrong with rich people.

2012-10-09 09:52:08 PM
Prove by rigging the numbers?

That would be the Republican way.

The Jack Welch who has a $15,000 umbrella stand and a $6,000 shower curtain. Who better to understand the plight of the unemployed?

FTFA:

"We let Reuters know today that we were going to cease our column with them," Suzy Welch told Daily Intel. "We loved our experience at Reuters, it just wasn't getting a lot of traction."

The Welches' contributions, which focus on management and politics, have been running since January. Asked if the decision to quit had anything to do with last week's jobs numbers, Welch said, "No."

Not even that idiot is lame enough to blame the media.

Know what that makes you?

Unexpected news reached Jack Welch
It,in fact, caused him to loudly belch:
"Unemployment's gone down?!"
He said with a frown,
"My GOD,this positive trend I must squelch!"

I wouldn't call what he said an "opinion". It's more of an unsubstantiated, baseless accusation that could undermine an otherwise credible news source.
Here's an opinion. Your mother is the worst at giving BJ's. Why is it an opinion? Because, objectively, she has blown me several times. Subjectively, I feel she is terrible at it.

Take an Economics Survey course (as apposed to more in depth macro/micro classes) and you learn that when unemployment runs out, the people who have a. lost that money (and thus the tracking) and b. haven't gotten a job that reports their paycheck/taxes/etc stop being counted. I forget the term but it's not a secret statistic, I'm betting every professional economist knows about it. This in turn effects the official unemployment numbers, making it seem like UE has gone down.

I don't know as much about how they tally the overall jobs lost/jobs gained count, but I assume they count it a lot like balancing your check book; ie count both + and - and whichever one is greater, that's what gets reported. it's not going to reflect the actual unemployment rate, but it is a measure of whether an economy is recovering or not...

Feel free to set me straight though, I'm merely an armchair economist/observer.

Stewart slammed Welch last night.

"The job numbers don't feel right and they don't smell right. That's two of the five senses. How do they taste?"

Conservatives, ask yourselves this question:

Is it actually possible that Obama, according to your fine sources of information:

-has done nothing good since 1/20/09?
-has been a part of such incredible conspiracies such as Birther-gate, Solyndra-gate, Fast and Furious-gate and September Jobs Report-gate?
-hates America and yet wishes to lead it for another 4 years after hating it for the past 4 years?

Do you honestly think history will look favorably upon you and the dipshiats who postulate this crap?

Seriously, if you were Japanese and came to the realization that you're being retarded, you'd kill yourselves.

I know this was a drive-by flameout by Trollmunga, but unlike the rightwing propaganda machine that Faux News and Drudge belong to, there are still media organizations that give a shiat about their credibility. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and people who know what the fark is going on all laughed at this dumbass's biased conspiracy theory. You don't drop a pile of fabricated bullshiat on people, and then hide behind the "it's an opinion piece!" defense.

2012-10-10 12:18:34 AM
"these numbers don't smell right when you think about where the economy is right now."

Conservatism in a nutshell... "The numbers don't jibe with the hinky baseless feeling way up in the crevices of my asshole that I very much want to believe... Clearly, it's the numbers that are full of shiat, and I will never ever believe them no matter what. I will continue to look way up in the crevices of my asshole for my knowledge."
